Could someone give me a quick run down of some good Mastermind binds and why they're useful? Right now, I mostly just dogpile of of my people on one guy with the Attack/Aggressive button that's already supplied and wanted to see if there was a better way of doing it ( Read more... )

One thing that wasn't mentioned exactly about Bodyguard mode:

If you're using the numpad binds or another similar setup, instead of the macros that they give you when you start your MM, then it's possible to issue an "Attack" command without putting the pets into Aggressive. Which will at least get the pets *started* on combat. And, once they finish attacking the specific target, they'll default back into Follow. But since they're already engaged in combat, and the mobs are shooting at stuff, they'll tend to keep fighting.

It also really depends on your sets. On my Thugs/Dark and now my Necro/Dark, I tend to just leave the pets in Aggressive all the time, and not really worry about Bodyguard.

It's true, bodyguard can be very nice but the trade-off is that you (personally) need to take aggro for it to work. In team situations, you might go through a battle and not get shot at, which means your guys aren't doing too much. Also, ranged pets (especially mercs, if their resistance counts) generally work better.

Anyways, you need to take the first shot (or generate aggro some other way) to effectively get bodyguard to work. For example, you aggro a guy with a SMG burst, he and his friends will shoot back at you, your bodyguards will spring into action and waste people. If foes aren't attacking you, your pets will probably not respond ( ... )
