It's been a while since I've posted.  While summer is the favorite time of the year for so many, I like the cooler season.  I'm the opposite of bears, I tend to hibernate in the summer. But as fall is fast approaching, it feels wonderful and I can stretch out and relax.

A quick synopsis of what I've learned and thought about while away:

Thank you. I appreciate the condolences. Life has some surprises.

I thought of you the other day when my friends drove from Perry Hall to PA with an injured baby starling, rushing through traffic (!!) so the little guy can make it to the wildlife rehabilitator they found on the internet. I mentioned you and thought of you greeting people with all the animals. When I'm done crunching numbers, I'd love to learn more about it and do wildlife rehab. That's another story :)

Thanks, Melodye. Your rose (and you) are always a welcome sight. I have been nurturing myself and also making the most of my town with gas prices so high....ideal for crafts, writing and experimenting in the kitchen (home-made sushi, anyone?).

Welcome back from Powell's Books! (my teen-age and 20'something refuge)

It's good to hear about your summer--sometimes hibernation is just the thing to get in touch with what we need most. Speaking of DC suburbs--we'll be visiting family there soon. Wish we had more time to explore Baltimore and stop in to say hello...

Hi Lorraine,
I'm glad you'll be in my neck of the woods - it's cooling down with the flowers in bloom. BTW: I'm heading west in a few months. I'll keep you posted....

I missed you. I looked at my little cat pins the other day, and meant to write. you beat me to it!
Glad you're ok.

Hi Mona,
You're wonderful. I'm doing fine, just hibernating and taking care of things, hunkering down 'til fall. I'm glad the cat pins are in your life. The sea glass necklace hangs over my jewelry basket. :)
