Newish returning player to City of Heroes

Back when City of Villain’s was first released, my wife and I subscribed to City of Heroes/City of Villain’s for a couple of months.  I can't remember why we stopped and moved on to other games, because COX offered so much that we both enjoyed.  Regardless we left the game without experiencing very much of its content.  Fast forward to the now, and ( Read more... )

First off, I'm very sorry folks were rude on your run. What you ended up on was a sewer team and the hydra you mentioned are the final bosses in that mission. Most sewer teams only get together to run that series of missions once, and then they quit at the end of it unless the leader says they're going to run again. I just wanted to mention this in case you thought they were quitting because of a "noob tank" (ugh, so rude!).

Also, you don't need to join an SG to run endgame content. It sometimes makes teaming easier, but I see oodles of 50s not in SGs running around happy as clams in trials.

Welcome back to the game. What servers do you call home at the moment? If we have any overlap, I'd love to run some missions with you.

The LJ crew is happy to help newbies (or "players gone long enough to be newbies again"), at YOUR pace and at YOUR convenience, so don't hesitate to join us in conversation. Type the above in your chat bar, which will join the LiveJournal global chat channel. Then you can send messages to the LJ channel by typing:
/send LiveJournal Not only that, but if you prefer to solo but still like the MMO feel, the LJ channel is pretty chatty and willing to suffer soloists gladly ( ... )

The lack of willingness to accept no for an answer seems... a little odd, to be honest. Aside from one or two jerks, most people who send me tells/invites are willing to take no for an answer. Of course, anyone who keeps trying to send me invites after I say "no" tends to get put in my ignore list.

Thanks for the warm welcomes :). Currently I'm on the Justice Server so I can play the game with my wife. She's still f2p and limited in her character slots. Having said that I'm happy to create a character on another server for those times when she's not around.

I'll make sure I join the LiveJournal Global chat channel :).

If they quit before the sewer team was over, then they weren't a very good team to begin with. You do not need a tank for that mission, and I'm not even sure you *can* tank the hydras, if there's a point to it. All you need to do is just walk to the side when the ground goes all weird.

Actually, you don't need a tank for any of that trial.

Stick by your guns, if they're going to ignore your comfort levels, they're not good to team with.

The LJ chat above really is quite nice and informative. To see how many people are on (the more there are, the more answers you're likely to get) you can go to your 'friends' tab and drop down until you see Livejournal.
