Any suggestions on which Alpha to choose for a dark/regen scrapper? One possibly way to think about it is, if you were building/planning such a scrapper, what would you pick ( Read more... )

I have a DM/Regen scrapper and went with Spiritual boost. There was a noticeable increase in regen rate, even with just the uncommon boost. Plus I only have a 5 second gap in Dull Pain coverage. I expect this to disappear when I get my Very Rare boost. We could be seeing perma Hasten.

With just Dull pain running my regen is 70hp/sec.

I've not noticed any endurance problems at all.

I dropped Focused Accuracy and took Tactics instead. It gives better to hit bonuses after they nerfed FA. It also uses a lot less endurance. Doesn't give as good To Hit Debuff protection, but still...

I heartily recommend the Spiritual incarnate boost for DM/Regen scrappers.

...Nerfed FA? Gods, I clearly don't spend enough time camped out in the forums, because... grr? What?

Yes, apparently Focused Accuracy was giving too good of To-Hit bonuses for the Devs taste. So they chopped it down lower than what Tactics gives you. I've tested this myself and know it to be true.

So I don't bother with FA as Tactics is better and helps your team. This is a shame as FA used to be a fantastic power even given the huge end drain it had.

Well, Tactics is a tier 2 Pool power and FA is a tier 1 Epic/Patron Pool power. So if you just want that power's benefits (and not Maneuvers or Assault), FA is a slightly better deal. If you're already committed to going for the Leadership Pool on its own merits, yeah...don't bother with FA. But if you have a character who already has FA, respeccing to change it to Tactics will mean ditching something else as well, and you have to ask yourself if there's something else you'd be willing to replace with Assault or Maneuvers.

If you can handle the extra enhancement hassle and cost (by no means trivial by the time you hit epic pools), you might consider a build with FA for soloing (where every extra power might come in useful) and with Tactics and Assault or Maneuver for team play.

Spiritual, without a second of hesitation.

If I ever apply GR to my account, the very first thing I will be doing is getting Magnificent (claws/regen) started on Spiritual. She's about 25 seconds from perma-DP already, and the healing enhancements affect powers' regen, so this is me making grabby hands!

edit to fix current DP downtime

Thirded on the pre-commenters.

My regens all get spiritual. The recharge and the healing are just perfect for them. And if you slottet the attacks wisely, you'll not having end problems.

My vote is for Musculature. You say you're pretty happy with recharge now anyhoo, and Musculature is a great path for a scrapper.

Well, I went with Cardiac more often than not, since I haven't gotten big into set-building and several of my builds are endurance hogs. :) But if you've got the DM/Speed combo's inherent endurance issues under control already via other means, Spiritual is definitely a good way to go. FASTER FASTER FASTER!
