Superbase Parking

Hi everyone, quick question. Was there ever a time that you could log off inside your superbase and stay there when you log back in? I know it sounds silly but I it kind of annoys me that I'm always outside of the SB Portal when I log back in.

Nope, never was.

Just like you can't log off inside a mission and log back in inside it. That's just how it is with instances.

To my knowledge, no.

It's like robotech_master said. The SG base is an instanced map, just like any mission. So, it only "exists" when there's someone on it, which means when you log off, the map gets loaded out of the server's memory. Which means you appear on a city map closest to the instanced map you were on last.

Alternately, you can use this to your advantage by zoning into your SG base and going AFK without fear of being forcibly logged out for inactivity.

Yep! It's a handy trick.

Kicking you back to the entrance also avoids the issue of logging out in a room that might not exist when you login again. Which could happen if someone completely reorganized the layout of the base while you were logged out.

It's an edge case that could be handled, but it's avoided altogether by using the instancing mechanism.
