I have an old iPod. The original Video iPod...fifth gen, I think it was? It's served me well, but I haven't listened to it lately. I don't take it with me to school much because the bus is actually too noisy to listen to music. And when I'm at home, I can just listen to my music library on the computer most of the time

Yep, that sounds like what happened to mine...

First, my Home button became stuck so I bought a new one. Then, it started not turning on or having a blank screen...nice and scary. Finally, it wouldn't turn on at all or react to being plugged in.

Maybe you could hunt down a refurbished one online or from someone you know?

I didn't have any trouble with it before this, but like I said, I haven't used it in a while, so I don't know if it's been building up to this or not. :/

I think I'll try to see if Apple can replace the battery first, and see if that fixes it. If not...I guess I'll look at my options.
