Well, at the very least, you bought plane tickets with a destination, no ? It can be argued (rather successfully, i'd wager) that everybody - even the most spontaneous among us - plans for the future to some degree.
I guess, then, that the question is more one of granularity : "what scope of plan do you need in order to be comfortable ?"
