Despite the succession, things have been quiet, but it feels like the calm before the storm. I think I'm going to head out early and spent the evening with Chris. Holding him in my arms makes me feel more solid, more real. I need that right now.

Dropping my things on the table by the door, I walk into the living room. Without a word I sit beside you and pull you into my lap, my cheek resting agianst your head.

The look on your face is something I'm not sure I've seen before, so I curl closer to you and wrap my arms around your shoulders. "Bad day at work?" I ask, wondering.
