Unfortunately it's more/less complicated than that. What happens if you happen to want not to want your things. In this case, is the lack of desire of your possessions an object in and of itself? What constitutes a possession? Are my thoughts possessions? In this case wouldn't I be better off zoned out day and night naked in a dark climate-controlled state-owned room ( ... )

Maybe hung-up is a better term than desire.

If you are seeking sensation, or focusing on certain ideas, and can't move on from that desire, then it will get in the way of realizing that wealth or thoughts aren't more important than anything else.

If you seek anything for its own sake, it becomes an addiction, because it intereferes with seeking other things. Instead, seek first the Zen mindset, and your other priorities will sort themselves out.
