can we do that right now?

i guess by not writing here often i tend toward the safe side. i never intended for this journal to be a log of daily life. it’s really more of a place to keep things i need to keep that i have nowhere else to put. i’m not sure how much sense that makes to anyone living anywhere outside my head, but that's what it is. the monumental things, see, ( Read more... )

You write the way I think only dear friends talk to each other (which I personally can only approach verbally, I don't think my writing does it). I think I'd buy your book (should you write one) sight-unseen, just because you're cozy to read.

Noted the movies, for the next time the smooth flow of my life starts to chafe. (no pun intended)

Ideas are viral, I think. The medium (media?) for my epiphanies have been wise women, books, comic strips, people I can't stand, kittens...

i so love that you listed people you can't stand as an inspiration for your epiphanies. that rocks. and also kittens.

it would take eleventy years for me to write a book, at the rate i've been writing. stick around so i'll have at least one customer. thank you.

shall we all descend upon the meta some day soon?

I try to remember that when someone really pisses me off, it's usually because they're reminding me of something I don't like about myself.

Hmmm... I could post it on LJ next time I'm gonna be able to hit the Meta... but then you wouldn't see it unless you visited here regularly. MUHAHAHAHAHA!

Yes, yes, yes and yes! Yes to MJ and JC, who I sent an email to after I saw that movie (he hasn't written back, but that's ok) and I am going to write a love letter to MJ as well. Have you poked around her website and gone to Learning to love you more yet? YOU WILL GUARANTEED LOVE IT AND BE EVEN MORE INSPIRED THAN YOU ALREADY ARE. Last night my friend Megan and I were driving home from work with another friend and it wasn't long before the subject of Me and You came up, which neither of us has stopped talking/thinking about since we saw it, and our friend Tracy said "Oh my god! I feel like I'm in some sort of vortex and I have no idea what's happening!" because she hadn't seen it but has been around the people who have. It seriously rocked me, and I'm so glad it rocked you into writing because WHITE TUNA SUSHI or UNFLAGGING TRUTH is just one little bit of genius.

sets in my mind the picture of running underwear up the flagpole. Although I'm not really convinced our underwear is very honest. Mine is: plain, cotton, comfortable, some colorful, mostly just pieces of cloth to keep the sensitive bits from unking pieces of heavier clothing.

But that isn't why I started this response, to talk about my underwear (or yours). (and I'll second purple_marf in buying your book -- eleventy years isn't such a long time for a book)

I look forward to your entries and feel like I do when I see there is a new issue of my favorite magazines when I see you've written. It is as close as I can get to meeting you over coffee, or watching children play under a sky darkening in the shadow of an old, old school.

Maudlin. Fall sunshine makes me maudlin.
