So by now, some of you are wondering what the Hell happened. Well, so am I. One day, I'm about to go in for eye surgery--a few weeks later, I'm getting out of the hospital with an infected liver. I dream of a time when no in-patient will leave hospital without having been subjected to a visual or spoken reference from the film There Will Be Blood. We will have to think of an appropriate substitute film for minors - The Goonies, perhaps or Meet the Feebles.

Holy crap indeed! I'm just glad I got out on Christmas Eve, because Christmas Day at the hospital would have been awful. But the important thing is, I didn't die.

And, oh! Happy New Year to you and Patrick and any stray Koalas and Kangaroos you may have taken in!

That Manday character(if he really does exist) sounds like a good example of "Deus ex Machina". Are you sure you're not just making up this part of the story to avoid the all too predictable "After spending $x on a 5km taxi ride home...". If there really is such a person as Manday, he must be a real stand up guy... perhaps the two of you should go to White Spot for dinner sometime...
