This icon thing is still driving me crazy. I still cannot upload anything, and it appears the reason is the file size, which LJ limits to 40 kb. All the icons I am trying to upload are smaller than that, but after I upload them they mysteriously become larger, usually 80-90 KB. WTF, LJ?

So frustrating.

Regarding the entry I just reposted regarding possible changes to our Friends pages? This, if it happens, may be the thing that FINALLY gets me to switch over to Dreamwidth. Ugh.

I'm very behind, and trying not very successfully to catch up. Man, the laptop has spoiled me! We found out yesterday that it is indeed the fan (duh) and they will fix it for $100. Spike my beloved laptop, that is. He won't stay on (no jokes, people) for more than 5 minutes without just shutting off. No blue screen. Just...off. For those of you more familiar with wireless technology than I, why is it that when I attempt to access my router's control page (192.168.1.1) which I have done in the past without a problem, do I now get a blank page? It asks me for my password, which I give, and then I get a blank page - not even an error, but completely blank with just a "done ( Read more... )

I just got off the phone with a very nice tech support person from Netgear who tells me (after several diagnostic maneunvers) that my router has "gone bad" - and in an irredeemable sort of way, apparently. They are going to send me a new one, so we will cross our fingers and hope that this will, indeed, fix the problem.
