When routers go bad ...

I just got off the phone with a very nice tech support person from Netgear who tells me (after several diagnostic maneunvers) that my router has "gone bad" - and in an irredeemable sort of way, apparently. They are going to send me a new one, so we will cross our fingers and hope that this will, indeed, fix the problem.
