Eeee! More Muse fic! :D :D

Ok, right, review:

This was fab, as always. I could see them doing this scene, which is so important because with Matt's Doctor so much of the character is in the body movements and that's often overlooked in fics and totally wasn't here. And I just adore how you write their love of danger, the "I love it when you talk dirty" line was especially awesome, but the way you suggest that the Doctor is turned on by the danger by mentioning the hoarse voice and lip biting was also very well done.

This does have me curious though; what do you have against Google? :P

I am always so delighted to see a reply from you. Your feedback is always wonderful, thank you so very much. It's so nice hearing exactly what you liked about the piece. I have started trying to focus a lot on getting the Doctor and River's body language together right, because as you said, that seems to be a huge part of Matt's Doctor... And it's something that markedly changes when River Song enters the room. He starts preening. He starts showing off. His voice lowers. His concept of personal space becomes wibbly. He becomes... sensual. It's a delight to watch and it's part of that special electricity between the two of them that I love so much on screen, so I really want to capture that when I write them. To hear from you that I captured even a small part of that is just wonderful! And I love that you caught that I was purposefully trying to portray the Doctor not only as excited by danger but excited by it. :D Again, thank you!

And Google ran over my cat. ;P

To be honest, I love talking to you when you're high. You're funny like that. :) I hope you're doing okay? Especially, I hope the pain is manageable?

Thank you for taking the time to read this in your convalescence. I really appreciate it. And I'm so happy that you enjoyed it! And I loved reading your description of it. :D Thank you for your feedback! And get better soon!

Oh god, you forgot to add prologue to the title. Minor issue. Fix it when you post the next part. *nods*

I started giggling at the 'your mother!' line, and I love how you have them flirt, but I think my favouritest thing about this is that River is all 'drop me off, well you can come if you want.' It just - I love that she's going, with or without him. I like seeing that independent streak to her.

ETA: Also I am so sorry Doctor, but I still love Google. *shrugs* They're all fast and sleek and clearly don't get evil until I'm dead so I feel justified.

:D Actually, you-watch-us-run on tumblr had said that she wished this was the intro to a longer adventure story called The Dead Palace and I thought... Damn, I think I might really like to write that actually. It is entirely possible that this will actually become a prologue to a longer piece like that. I think it'd be fun to write a longer piece that was a River/Doctor adventure. Which would be funny because I whipped this up months ago in the space of about an hour. Just a really quick one-shot. But now I'm thinking... This would be really fun to write. Of course, now I have to figure out how the palace could be a billion years older than the planet it was built on, why it turns people into zombies, and make it something scary enough that the Time Lords were afraid of it ( ... )

I AM SO EXCITED about you turning it into a longer fic. Just remember - when writing action/adventure, it's sci-fi so pretty much anything goes for explanations on how it got there. Aliens moved it there. A starwhale ate it and spit it out passing by. There's a deadly air toxin that turns people into zombies. THE WHOLE PLACED IS CURSED. IDK. Just have fun with it. But action/adventures are such a commitment I know. It's why I've only ever done one lol.

(and kjashdjashdassadh OH YOU. Shush. You are one of my FAVOURITES. Have been since I first discovered R/D fic ;)

I hope I will get the opportunity to write it. I think it'll be fun. We'll see how much life obliges me. And I loved reading your possible explanations for the Dead Palace! They had me laughing out loud and smiling. Thank you so much! (HUGS!)

Loved this! It made me smile so much, and is such a lovely little window into them travelling together, going from one adventure to the next. You have the characterisation spot on, all the physical and verbal interaction is just perfect. I laughed at "yeah? your mother!" and at the Google bit.
This fic just makes me feel....Yay!

Thank you! I am so happy that it made you smile, since that was the whole purpose of the thing when I wrote it! I'm also really jazzed that you felt their characterization and interaction felt right to them. That's really important to me when writing them. It was also very nice to know that you liked the "Yeah? Your mother" (the Doctor talks such smack) and the Google bits specifically. :D I always appreciate knowing what pieces are a reader's favorites. In the end, I am just incredibly happy that the story filled you with a feeling of 'Yay!' Mission accomplished. Thank you very much! :D

p.s. I agree with gidget, this is a wonderful prologue to a much longer piece about The Dead Palace. I'd love to see you write that adventure. ;)
