My missing package arrived today. I was about to go call the post office (per Amazon's instructions) but decided to check outside first just in case, and there it was. This is a happy thing

I had that happen when I was recovering from foot surgery. My mailbox is like 8' from my door; I had to go a few miles away to get it. (Mail lady told my neighbor it's again her policy to deliver packages. >.<)
We always get a knock or doorbell. Maybe it's just the assumption by the carriers that service your area that everyone is at work and signaling that they've left something is pointless?
Story 1: At our old apartment, they would commonly just put "you have a package" stickers on our doors & not knock. Then all they had to do was unload all of the packages at the apartment office. Some of them would half-knock, and if you actually answered, they would go downstairs and get your package (they never carried them upstairs otherwise.) This irritated our old neighbor who worked from home & got tons of packages (part of his work) and knew that he was in the apartment all day to receive stuff, but still have to drive down to the office and get his packages and haul them upstairs

at least yours actually arrived! I ordered something through one of Amazon's partners and although they said they had stock when I placed the order, they apparently ran out and cancelled the order. Rather than emailling me or notifying me in any way, I got to find this out when I called them today to check on it. I plan on writing a not so nice review about it. Now I have to get something else from Jim and I for Maddie.
I had this exact same thing happen with a gift I ordered, only I got an email yesterday saying that they were unable to obtain the item and were cancelling the order. So I'm now trying to obtain said gift through other sources....but I'm not sure if I'll be able to get it before Christmas or not. That's the one I mentioned in yesterday's post as having been cancelled.
