Both of them were smoking?? Gah. When we were backstage at last yr's Dragon*Con concert, I saw Rachel hit the asthma inhaler about 3 times between numbers! sheesh. But even putting her body through all that, she is still a hell of a dancer.
I am glad you had a good time...but I wanna see pictures of Paulina with the baby bump dressed up for CXS! :)
Rachel's cigarette was very dark in color, which made me wonder if it was a clove cigarette of some variety rather than tobacco. But not touching any of that stuff myself, I'm not exactly up on what a clove cigarette is vs. regular old tobacco (other than someone on my friends list recently mentioned cloves don't have nicotene). Maybe cloves don't irritate asthma?
It's been years since I've smoked them, but I remember the rumour I used to hear was that smoking clove cigarettes was like poking pinholes in your lungs. They smell nice though. :)
you'd be surprised at the number of dancers that put themselves through crap with their smoking habits.
professional dancers (ballet anyway) are known for it.... a majority of them have the fixation, others started because of the 'thin' it provided... curbing appetite and all. i can understand from one aspect why/where they pick it up... but i never could understand why they kept it up. yay addiction. ugh.
