6 The next few days were more or less unexciting from Yesung's point of view. Kangin had practically bound him to his bed to *prevent father unwanted side effects* after they found out his escape attempt had moved his broken rib slightly in the wrong direction.
It hurt like hell so the young wolf found himself staying in bed on a voluntary basis rather than strolling around; he slept most of the time, just waking for meals.
But every time he woke up he wasn't alone, if it wasn't Ryeowook who was sitting quietly at his table, scribbling down notes while keeping an eye on him, it was Leeteuk going in and out of the room every five minutes to check on him.
Yet one time he woke to a light brush through his hair and soft fingertips dancing over his cheek, only to stare into the shocked eyes of Kibum who took off in a speed of light. This made the young lycan wonder if it just had been a weird dream and left him with a light blush and a warm feeling in his chest.
**********
A weird, metallic clicking sound was waking Yesung this time. Rolling around slightly and pulling up his sheets to avoid the irritating noise, he slowly opened one eye in search for the nuisance.
Blinking once, then twice he opened both eyes at once, shooting up and crawling back a bit as he was looking directly into Heechul's mischievous eyes.
"Morning Sungie." The grin on the redhead's face seemed a little bit too happy.
Yesung blinked again. Why was the redhead crouched down in front of his bed, smiling like hell and playing with a big pair of scissors, the cause of the metallic sound? And why was the room suddenly in such chaos? The last time he checked everything was in order. Now there were big shopping bags standing in the room, which contents of which seemed to be scattered all over the place.
He blinked again, "Morning." The redhead smirked.
He was about to asked what was going on as the door opened and Kibum stepped in, followed by Leeteuk.
"Morning Yesung." The oldest one smiled, "how do you feel?"
"Fine," the youngest mumbled while Leeteuk sat down next to him.
And this time it wasn't a lie. Kangin's attempts at healing and the strict bed detention had been taking effect, he barely felt his broken ribs any longer and the pain was almost gone too.
"That's nice," Leeteuk smiled. "You were out of it for the last three days, Kibum here was pretty worried."
Yesung looked up. "Sorry," he muttered to the vampire who was still standing in the doorframe and now started coming over.
"It doesn't matter," he said, smiling and sat down on Yesung's other side, "As long as you're feeling better now."
Ducking his head down and fumbling with his sheets Yesung couldn't stop the small smile from creeping onto his face.
"Awww~ you should smile more often," Leeteuk squeaked as he threw his arm around the small wolf, "It looks good on you."
Heechul on the other hand seemed to have had enough of being ignored and rose from his spot on the floor in front of the three. "So, now we have cleared that up, could I please start my work?" He tapped his feet impatiently against the floor and swirled the scissors around his finger, giving the others death glares.
"Your hair is so impertinent and Kangin's clothes are horrible," he said, throwing his hair back. "So please.." and he gestured at Leeteuk and Kibum, asking them to leave the room.
Kibum looked skeptically at the redhaired wolf. "Can I really leave you alone with this fellow?" he asked Yesung. "I don't mind the long hair and the clothes - ."
"OUT!" hissed Heechul and practically threw Kibum out of the room. "I will lend him to you tomorrow, but I dare you or anyone else to come in before I am finished." With that the door was closed.
"You don't have to worry." Leeteuk smiled and threw his arm around Kibums shoulder. "That's just his way of showing affection."
"I heard that!"
Leeteuk and Kibum quickly ran for it, warning the others not to step a foot into Ryeowook's room.
Inside the deserted room Yesung swallowed deeply.
"And now for you," Heechul turned and placed a chair in the middle of the room. "Sit," he ordered, and Yesung did.
After the next three hours as Heechul bustled around him, Yesung began to understand that Heechul wasn't as bad as he thought, the other wolf just had this eccentric way of showing his feelings.
Heechul kept on nagging and gossiping over everyone and everything in the dorm from people to animals to furniture. He nagged about Leeteuk and his over protectiveness, Sungmin and his pink obsession, over couches with wrong colours and tics in the cupboard.
Yesung laughed out quietly as Heechul finished his story about how Leeteuk forced him to colour Sungmin's hair pink which caused the redhaired wolf to look up from throwing one pair of green trousers into the unacceptable marked pile.
"Leeteuk was right," he smirked, "You should laugh more often. It's a lot healthier than frowning."
Throwing the last pieces of clothing onto the different piles in the room he walked over to Yesung again, pulling him up.
"I think I'm finished with you," he mused, holding the younger at arm’s length, eyeballing him critically. "But something is still missing," he murmured before suddenly running out of the room just to come back in an instant, carrying a small box.
"Here," he smiled, shoving the box into Yesung's hands. "See it as a small welcoming gift," he said, pointing to the small box and the pile of clothes he had previously marked as acceptable.
Yesung stared. He hadn't got presents in a long while, the last time...he couldn't even remember clearly.
Carefully he opened the small box, relieving a pair of dark, cross shaped earrings decorated with black rhinestones at the ends and a big, dark blue stone in the middle.
"I can't accept this," he murmured quietly, but Heechul saw with contentedness the glint in the eyes of the youngest lycan as he took the box back.
"Baloney," he snorted, while exchanging Yesung's rusty, old ones for the new earrings. "They belong to you. You're the only one in the house whom they match, so wear them."
The young lycan nodded happily, gazing at his new look in the mirror.
"And now out with you, my new creation," Heechul smirked. "The others will look surprised."
"I'm such a genius" he snickered.
Yesung shuddered.
***********
Outside in the living room Kibum was fidgeting. He wasn't pleased with the fact that he had to leave Heechul alone with Yesung, even if Leeteuk laughed at him and reassured that everything was fine.
So he kept on running in circles around the living room table under the wary eyes of his friends.
"You like him," Donghae spluttered out suddenly and Kibum stood stock still and stared down at the younger wolf, who was sprawled out next to Eunhyunk on the couch.
"It's practically written on your forehead," he grinnedd while the others nodded in agreement.
"I'm not," murmured Kibum. "I don't even know him enough."
"And yet you're the only one he's relaxed while talking to, when we ignore that incident a few days ago. Let’s not forget that you have been sleeping on our couch the last few days," said a smirking Leeteuk.
Kibum could feel the colour creeping back into his cheeks so he looked out of the window.
Yes, he liked the young lycan, but how much he couldn't tell right know. This old comfortable feeling in his chest wasn't familiar enough right now. It was too new to him to arrange it to the right position.
He could just tell this much, that he cared about the lycan, a lot to be exact. However, there was still this tiny voice at the back of his head telling him that he knew Yesung previously but when or how he still couldn't remember.
Kibum's suddenly came to a halt as a dreadful laugh sounded down the hall, sending the creeps down his spine.
Leeteuk shot up and Kibum was also on his way down the hall when the last door suddenly flew wide open and Heechul stepped out, a wide grin plastered to his face.
"Sit down, sit down," he shooed them all back into the living room. "I have finished my creation."
He stayed quiet, creating a dramatic pause which caused Siwon's eyebrows to rise up.
"Just do it already," whined Donghae finally, who was floundering around impatiently.
"Tch..Philistines," hissed Heechul before turning around. "I have outdone myself again," he smiled patting himself on his own shoulder.
"Sungie, you can come out~"
They waited, but nothing happened so Heechul rolled his eyes and stepped back into Ryeowook's room. "Come on, don't be such a spoilsport, you cannot be this shy. You're looking totally great."
A few minutes later Heechul appeared again, dragging Yesung along.
Donghae whistled, Leeteuk smiled proudly and Kibum simply stopped breathing.
"Wonderful," screamed Leeteuk. "Heechul, you're a genius," he stated and soon the others joined his praises and compliments. Kibum just still stood frozen until Sungmin smacked his shoulder. "Breathe, dude" he said causing Kibum to cough.
Yesung's hair was now shorter; the long knotty mass had vanished along with the long bangs, leaving enough space for his chocolate brown orbs to be seen without hindrance.
Heechul had messed up the short hair a bit giving the young lycan an almost childish look. The oversized clothing from Kangin was now gone, replaced with a red printed shirt under a black hooded vest and a pair of bark blue jeans.
Kibum was still staring while Heechul turned Yesung in circles like a dress up doll, showing off the details of his genius accompanied by the admiring "Ohhhhs," and "Ahhhs~," of the others.
The next thing Kibum realized was that Yesung was standing in front of him, clearly uncomfortable and looking down.
"Say something," whispered Heechul, giving him a poke in the ribs, bringing Kibum back to reality.
"Ehm.." he stammered, scratching his head while he was searching for the right words.
"You look great," he murmured feeling his own blush deepen as the young lycan looked up, cheeks clearly tinged as well.
"Just ask already," whispered Donghae as he dragged Eunhyunk with him dancing a few weird movements behind, leaving Kibum slightly confused.
Sungmin sighed. "Just ask him out already," he grumbled while the Eunhae duo continued trying to form the word date with their bodies.
Kibum blushed even deeper, if it was possible, before looking down at the younger male in front of him again, taking in a deep breath.
"Doyouwannagooutwithmetomorrow?" he blurted out, receiving a questioning look from Yesung, and snickers from Sungmin.
"I mean, would you like to come out with me tomorrow?" he repeated slowly gazing down hopefully.
Silence followed as the youngest lycan was seemly fighting with himself before slowly turning around, cheeks dark red, searching for Leeteuk.
"Can I?"
Leeteuk squeaked, "He can, right?" he asked Kangin, pulling at his sleeve as the bigger man let out a sigh.
"Fine..," he smiled slightly before looking seriously at Kibum. "But nothing dangerous; his wounds aren't healed completely. I am counting on you. Keep an eye on him, Kibum."
Kibum nodded, looking down at Yesung who was smiling lightly at him. "I'll pick you up at two." He ruffled his hand quickly through Yesungs' hair causing Heechul to let out a horrific scream before skipping mentally out of the room.
"Great," Heechul commented. "You're here for nearly one week and during that time you have turned the household upside down, twisted Kibum around your finger, made my purse a whole lot lighter and gotten yourself a date with a vampire. That took me months."
Yesung looked down, slightly frightened at Heechul's sudden outburst.
"Be happy that I like you and now come on. I’ll help you prepare for tomorrow," and he pulled the young lycan out of the room.
"He did it," Donghae smiled. "Kibum has really done it."
"My baby is growing up," sniffed Leeteuk into the sleeve of Kangin who just rolled his eyes.
"Pull yourself together, will you?" he said but couldn't suppress a small smile.
"Wait," Sungmin suddenly spoke up. "Where did Kibum go to? Wasn't he living on our couch?" which made the whole living room burst out laughing.
***********
The next day came quicker than expected and Heechul was standing in the living room, fixing Yesung's hair that was sticking out from under his beanie, while a nervous Leeteuk ran around them.
"Do you have the phone I gave you and the paper with our address? Don't forget to take a scarf with you, it's getting cold outside," Leeteuk kept babbling, it was five minutes till two.
Yesung nodded as he let Heechul putter around his hair, trying to stay calm.
It wasn't that he wasn't looking forward to meeting Kibum again, he was. While bedbound the last few days he decided he would try building a social life again. He would try to step over the shadow of his past and now that he had found people nice enough, he was willing to open up.
But a tiny bit of fear was still stuck in his heart which started racing again as the door bell rang.
