A/N: Just a quickie before finishing what needs to be done TT-TT oh and I've recently been hunting for more k-indie and k-hiphop artists and i swear to my life that they are way way way better than kpop... DBSK & JYJ are both an exception though. honestly. for me they're still those great artists everyone should be looking up to(leaving the bias out of this). << my irrelevance coming out due to exhaustion :)) definitely my fault for slacking off and for letting myself go near the laptop. XD
CHAPTER 4
It was now exactly a week after the car incident and like what he promised, Junsu prepared his stuff for the painting he had to do for Park Yoochun. It was still early so Junsu decided to have breakfast with Saeyoung and their mom.
“Wow, oppa. I was just MIA for a few days and suddenly you’ve become a criminal.” Saeyoung laughed at her own statement and looked at her brother.
“I wish I can sew your mouth closed so you can shut up.” Junsu glared at his sister.
Mrs. Kim carried the dishes with her and placed them on the dining table. “Alright. No fighting in front of the food.”
Once Mrs. Kim was seated, she served some of the food to her children. “I still can’t believe that man let you off the hook.”
“Aren’t you happy? We won’t need to work our asses off anymore.”
“Yes honey, but maybe we should still pay him the rest of the money,” Mrs. Kim replied.
“Mom, he already agreed to make me paint for it instead! That’s already a good thing.” Junsu was trying to convince his mom that him painting was a lot better than paying. And it was true. Plus, Junsu would be able to do something he loved so it was a win-win situation.
“Still can’t believe he agreed to that kind of deal,” Saeyoung said. “And over a painting only, too. Who does that anyway?”
Frustrated, Junsu just ate his breakfast while playfully glaring at Saeyoung throughout his meal.
--------------------
It was a few minutes later when Junsu arrived at the café location with a canvas and a box of all his tools and paint. He felt unsure of going inside since there were no signs of life inside the building. But nonetheless, Junsu continued walking and reached the entrance of the supposed-to-be café. There, he saw Yoochun and some other guys nailing down some wood on the wall. He was about to call for Yoochun when he suddenly heard a scream.
“PARK YOOCHUN!”
Yoochun was shocked by the outburst and turned to look at Geunsuk who was standing on a chair with a terrified face. “Get down from there you dumbass. Do you want to repeat what happened a few days ago?”
“Yoochun, please. There’s a cockroach!” Geunsuk cried out.
“Oh please, man up will you! It’s just a cockroach,” Yoochun replied.
“No, no, no. It was a big and ugly one! Look for it quick!”
Yoochun looked around but only saw some old crates and a few cloths scattered around, no cockroach on site. “Look, I don’t see anything. Now will you please come down before you actually break a bone.” Yoochun walked towards Geunsuk and stretched his hand to help his friend down.
“AAAAAHHH!” Geunsuk shocked Yoochun with his scream as he pointed at a place near Yoochun’s foot. “COCKROACH!!!”
Yoochun looked down and saw that the cockroach was climbing his shoe. He immediately kicked his foot and the cockroach flung to another direction, somewhere nearer Yunho and Changmin. Yoochun tried to climb on the same chair Geunsuk was on but was pushed away.
“Get your own chair!”
Yoochun got on top of a nearby crate and called out to the other two who were oblivious of the cockroach crawling near them.
“Hyung! Changmin! Cockroach!!!”
They were both wearing earphones but Yoochun’s voice was loud enough to be heard. Yunho and Changmin looked at Yoochun and saw that he was signaling to the floor. A cockroach was just between them and was about to spread its wings. Seeing the cockroach made them panic as well and made them get to higher ground.
“Shit!”
“Hyung, get it!”
Seeing the four grown men freaking out over a cockroach was hilarious and definitely entertained Junsu. Sensing that they won’t be going down unless the cockroach was dead, Junsu decided to deal with the roach.
“Sissies.” Junsu sighed and walked inside the place, putting his things down beforehand. The cockroach was crawling fast and was going at random directions. Once it went to Junsu’s direction, Junsu immediately walked closer and stepped on it completely crushing it to death.
The screaming stopped once they saw that a foot killed the cockroach. Yoochun was relieved and looked at who saved the day. He recognized the face and quickly got off the crate.
“Kim Junsu.”
Junsu forced a smile and awkwardly waved at them. “Hello…”
“Well that was embarrassing.” Geunsuk said as he got down from the chair.
Junsu was about to walk towards them when he remembered that a squished cockroach was still under his shoe. He raised a hand and signaled a wait and stepped out of the place. He got a twig lying on the ground and removed the dead cockroach.
After cleaning up his shoe, Junsu carried his stuff with him and got inside again. He settled the things on top of a large crate and proceeded to Yoochun.
“So, what do you plan to make me do?” Junsu asked.
“Well, I expect you to paint me something for my café. It shouldn’t look boring and plain. Make it look fresh, young, and maybe fun.” Yoochun nodded as he approved of his own opinion.
“And who’s this?” Geunsuk approached the two.
“Oh. Uh, guys this is Junsu. He’ll be painting for the café.”
Geunsuk smirked and looked at Junsu. “So you’re the car wrecker.”
Junsu glared at Geunsuk and scoffed. “Excuse me?”
“You’re excused.” Geunsuk shrugged and raised an eyebrow. “So Yoochun told us about the painting deal. How’s he gonna pay for a new car if you don’t pay him back?”
“Hyung!” Changmin called out. “Did you forget about Yoochun hyung being a spoiled brat? He’ll have the money to buy himself all the cars he want!” Changmin stated and made his way towards Junsu. “Hello! I’m Shim Changmin. The potty mouth over there is Jang Geunsuk. It’s nice to meet you! Well, officially meet you.” Changmin extended a hand for a handshake.
Junsu took Changmin’s hand and shook it. “Nice to meet you too.”
“Wait,” Changmin began. “How old are you?”
“Me?” Junsu pointed at himself. “I’m twenty six years old.”
“Damn! Still the youngest of the bunch. Guess I have to call you hyung.” Changmin sighed. “Everyone’s my hyung.” Changmin shook his head and walked away.
Yoochun walked closer to Junsu and looked at him with a blank expression. “So, ready to work?”
“Yeah, sure.” Junsu replied. “Just let me set up my canvas and I-“
“Woah,” Yoochun cut Junsu. “Canvas? No. You’re doing a mural for this café.”
Junsu’s eyes widened. “A mural?! But it’ll take days before I get to finish it.”
Yoochun shrugged and raised an eyebrow. “Then it’ll take days. I don’t care. Just do your job.”
Having no choice but to comply, Junsu gathered his box of brushes and paint and went to Yoochun. “Where do I do the mural?”
Yoochun lead Junsu further inside the café near the windows and showed him a cemented wall. “This is the only part that’s not wood and it’s kinda sticking out like a sore thumb. Instead of looking bland, maybe a mural could do the job and brighten the whole place.”
“Alright. Just got an idea. I’ll work on it.” Junsu proceeded to get a piece of paper and started sketching on it on the floor. Yoochun observed Junsu for a few minutes then walked off.
After fifteen minutes, Junsu was finished with his sketch and was starting to draw the whole thing on the wall with a charcoal stick. Junsu was unaware that he left his pencil lying on the ground. Yoochun had wanted to check if Junsu had started working but was not mindful of where he placed his steps. Without looking at where he was going, his foot had stepped on the pencil and caused him to slip and fall backwards.
*THUD*
“Oww…” Yoochun closed his eyes as a throbbing pain shot through his butt.
Hearing the loud thud, Junsu turned around and saw Yoochun on the floor. “Oh gosh, what happened?” Junsu kneeled beside Yoochun and helped him sit up.
“You left your pencil on the floor.” Yoochun cringed as he sat up. “Help me up.”
“Oh, okay.” Junsu grabbed hold of Yoochun’s hand, stood up, and pulled the guy up. Junsu froze as his eyes met with Yoochun’s. Yoochun’s eyes were brown but were of a lighter shade and almost had a honey-like tinge. Pretty eyes.
Seeing that Junsu was staring at his face, Yoochun tried to call of his attention. “Umm… Is there something on my face?”
Junsu snapped out of his daze and averted his eyes to the floor. “Oh it was nothing. I thought your hair had paint on it.”
Yoochun stared at Junsu for a while and noticed how the ends of Junsu’s eyes slightly curved to a point. They looked like almonds, specially with his brown eyes. What am I doing?! Yoochun snapped out of it and realized that he was still holding Junsu’s hand. He quickly let go of the hand and awkwardly chuckled.
“Whatever.” Yoochun scratched the back of his head. “Well, get to work then.”
“Uh-huh…” Junsu nodded, eyes still on the ground.
When Yoochun was far enough, Junsu released a breath he didn’t know he was holding. He put hand on his chest and patted it. Why are you beating so fast, heart? It’s not like it was my first time seeing a pair of captivating eyes. It’s a waste actually. Pretty eyes, mean man.
--------------------
It was hours later when Junsu finished a quarter of the mural. It was like a painting coming to real life. Junsu had just started with the bricks, but the bricks looked real. The whole concept was to paint a partial brick wall that had a hole on it in the middle. A pretty girl with brown hair would be lounging at that hole with her left arm and her head resting on top of the lower part of the hole. The girl’s other hand would be hanging out of the hole with a cup dangling between two fingers, spilling her cup of coffee down the wall. The lovely lady’s face would be painted as if she saw the handsomest man alive. The background of the girl beyond the brick wall would be a very nice green field with a small castle at the very far end.
Junsu thought it was a great idea since he saw that the café would be named ‘Prince Café’. If Yoochun was planning to have this shop an all-boy staff, then maybe a concept of an enamored girl who forgot her cup of coffee would fit the café interior.
Junsu was dead tired since the wall was so big and he had to concentrate on the details to give life to the painting. He yawned as he backed away, wanting to check his progress. Finally approving the work he has finished, Junsu laid down on the floor with eyes drooping. Gosh I’m so sleepy.
The rest of the gang was fixing the outer part of the café. Yoochun was still cleaning upstairs so they all had no clue that Junsu was sleeping on the floor. Jaesuk went out of the kitchen part of the café and saw an unknown man lying down on the floor. Starting to panic, he randomly brisk walked everywhere, not knowing what to do with the man. Geunsuk entered the building and saw that Jaesuk was like the ugly cockroach just moments ago. Remove the cockroach and it still is applicable to him. Geunsuk laughed at his thought and approached the elder man.
Grabbing hold of the said man’s shoulders, Geunsuk stopped Jaesuk from running back and forth inside. “What are you doing, ajusshi?!”
Jaesuk stopped panicking and recognized Geunsuk. “Oh, pretty dongsaeng. And it’s hyung to you!”
Geunsuk scoffed. Pretty?! I’m no girl, mister. “What’s the problem?”
“There’s a strange boy lying on the floor. He looks dead, but did anyone drop a dead body inside the building today?” Jaesuk looked at Geunsuk and dragged him to the place where Junsu was sleeping.
Recognizing that Junsu was the sleeping body, Geunsuk rolled his eyes at Jaesuk and sighed. “That’s staff, hyung. Dressed like a hobo too. He’s the one who’s supposed to be painting a mura.”
“Oh! I didn’t know that.” Jaesuk observed the wall in front of them. “Well, he’s definitely doing a good job!” He walked away, leaving Geunsuk behind.
Geunsuk squatted beside Junsu and stared at him. The boy looked like he was sleeping well so Geunsuk wanted to annoy him. “Hey, hey! Wake up, sleepy head.” Geunsuk shook Junsu’s shoulder.
Junsu stirred and lay flat on the ground. He groaned as he forced himself to open his eyes. He saw Geunsuk’s face and immediately sat up.
“Sleeping on the job now, eh?” Geunsuk smirked as he stood up.
“Don’t be a bastard about it. I was tired. I don’t paint well when I’m tired,” Junsu said as he lifted himself up. He dusted his clothes and got hold of his paint brush, planning to continue painting. “Besides, I have no plans of pissing of Park Yoochun and owing him much more money.”
Sensing that he had pissed Junsu more than he wanted, Geunsuk felt guilty. “Alright, alright. Sorry about that. I don’t exactly have the social skills of an aristocrat.”
“Yeah, I know right?” Junsu retorted with a mocking voice and faced Geunsuk with hands on his hips.
Geunsuk chuckled at Junsu’s feisty character and extended a hand. “Can we just start over? I’m Jang Geunsuk and I have a potty mouth.”
Junsu’s eyes turned to slits and looked at Geunsuk’s hand. Realizing that Geunsuk sincerely wanted to start over, Junsu took the hand and shook it. “I’m Kim Junsu and I wrecked Park Yoochun’s car.”
They both laughed at their introductions. It was silly but at least they were not denying themselves of the truth anymore. Junsu turned around with a smile and dipped his paint brush and started continuing his painting.
“Well, I better leave you to work. You’ve done a fantastic job so far, by the way.” Geunsuk left Junsu and headed upstairs to help Yoochun clean up.
Junsu chuckled and shook his head. Is he bipolar or something? Park Yoochun has strange friends. With that thought, Junsu started painting the girl.
--------------------
“Babe? Will you still be going to Junsu’s exhibition?” Boyoung asked Joongki over the phone as she walked down the streets of the city. She had only a loose white tank top and a pair of burgundy leggings with strappy four inch high heels. It was sizzling hot outside but she didn’t want to sacrifice her fashion preferences.
“Sorry dear, I can’t,” Joongki lied. He still didn’t inform Boyoung that Junsu found out about them and that they broke up. He promised her that he would properly tell Junsu the truth to avoid losing her friendship with Jaejoong and Junsu but it was something inevitable with what they have done. “Work has been hectic now and they’ve adjusted my shift and extended it.”
“Aww,” She cooed. “Don’t work yourself to death.”
“I have no choice, babe.” Joongki nervously chucked at the other line, hoping Boyoung won’t notice he was lying.
“Alright then. I was about to show you the dress I bought for the exhibition but I guess you’re too busy. It can wait.”
“I’m sure it’ll look fantastic on you,” he answered. “Anyway, I have to go. They need me in the board room now. Bye. Love you!”
“Bye. Love you too.” They both exchanged goodbyes and she placed her phone inside her bag.
Boyoung was walking down the street near Seoul University and spotted a building with a few handsome people working inside. Everyone was already raving about the new coffee shop - people particularly women. The shop already had people checking it out and it wasn’t even open yet.
Walking nearer the place, Boyoung stopped by the driveway of the café, hoping to get a glimpse of the handsome men inside.
“Oh shit.” Junsu absentmindedly dipped his brush inside the can of paint he was using but was shocked that it was empty. “Ugh. Not now.” Junsu placed his brush down on the newspaper he had spread on the floor hours ago. He had to buy another can of the paint he was using for the base color of the bricks. Junsu rushed to the entrance of the café and stopped for a while.
“Park Yoochun! I’ll just be buying a can of paint! I ran out of the color I need,” Junsu shouted inside and didn’t wait for Yoochun to reply.
Heading out of the driveway, he bumped into Boyoung who had an ecstatic look as she saw Junsu. “Oppa!
Junsu was surprised to see Boyoung there and immediately, he felt his knees tremble at the sight of his ex-friend.
“Oh, hi…” Junsu greeted stiffly.
“I didn’t know you work here. How about your job at Torofv?” she asked as she smiled at Junsu, waiting for a reply.
Junsu bit his lip and tried to gather up the strength to talk to Boyoung. “Umm… I still work there.”
Boyoung cocked her head to the side and had a confused face. “Then what are you doing here?”
“I was hired to do a mural for the place.”
“That’s wonderful, Susu oppa!” she complimented with a cheery voice.
Junsu hated the sound of his nickname coming out of her mouth. It sounded like an annoying squeak from a rat. She’s so fake. Stop acting like you’re still my friend!
“Yeah, I guess. Whatever.” Junsu rolled his eyes at her.
Boyoung noticed Junsu’s expression and felt the drought in Junsu’s bubbly self. “What’s wrong? You seem so moody.”
“As if you don’t know.” Junsu scoffed as he raised an eyebrow at her.
Feeling clueless, Boyoung scrunched her eyebrows together. “Did something happen to you?”
Junsu felt his heart ache again as he remembered what happened a week ago. Feeling beyond frustrated and heartbroken, Junsu sighed and closed his eyes. “Drop the act Park Boyoung, and just leave me alone.” Junsu walked away from her and started running.
Boyoung had no clue what just happened between the two of them but soon she suspected something that she was dreading to happen. She felt so ashamed of herself for acting like an innocent friend to Junsu. She realized that Joongki might have told Junsu the truth and broke up with him. Why didn’t he tell me about it?!
It was minutes later when Junsu went back to the café with a can of paint in hand. He approached the driveway and was relieved that Boyoung was nowhere to be found. Seeing her again made him think of evil things but most of all, he was reminded of the reason why he was feeling hurt. His childhood best friend betrayed him and made him look like a fool. Junsu’s tears were brimming his eyes but he tried his best to blink them away.
But where the other guys were working, they saw past his tough mask. They all noticed how depressed he was when he walked in. Whatever was making him sad was really doing a good job at it. They all stared at Junsu as he slowly walked towards the spot where he was painting the mural. And suddenly, Junsu’s shoulders started shaking, indicating that he was crying.
Yoochun stepped aside and grabbed a paper towel to hand him. He knew that Junsu was crying and was trying to wipe them away before anyone could see them, but he wasn't fooling anyone.
“Here.” Yoochun handed the paper towel in front of Junsu.
Junsu looked at Yoochun in surprise was shocked of the voice beside him. He settled the brush down on top of the new can of paint. “I don’t need it.”
“Apparently, you do.” Yoochun pointed to a tear rolling down Junsu’s cheek. “Look, just… just take it.”
Junsu bashfully got the paper towel from Yoochun’s hand and wiped his tears away. “Thank you…”
“Whatever. I don’t like weakness staining this place,” Yoochun said.
Junsu pouted but was grateful that Yoochun didn’t pry him about what happened a while ago. “I’ll be strong then.”
Yoochun averted his eyes to the mural and was amazed of how it looked. There was still a lot more to work on but it already looked amazing despite being half finished. Yoochun couldn’t help but be impressed of Junsu’s skill. Just as he thought that the painting he saw in Torofv was amazing, Junsu made something a thousand times even better than that.
"I guess I didn't hire you for nothing."
--------------------
“So, how’s work?” Mrs. Kim turned sipped from her glass of orange juice as she watched Junsu enter the house.
Junsu walked straight to the kitchen, got a glass, and poured himself some water. “Work? Which one?” He also fetched a fork from the drawer.
Saeyoung climbed down the stairs and proceeded to the kitchen with their mom behind her. “You have more than one?” Saeyoung sat down on one of the chairs of the dining table facing her back to their mom.
Junsu was about to sit down when he noticed Saeyoung’s face covered with something white. “What the hell is that on your face?”
“It’s a facial mask, dumbass,” Saeyoung said but soon covered her mouth, realizing what she said.
Mrs. Kim heard what Saeyoung said and got her face in front of her daugher’s. Her eyes widened and she pointed a finger at her daughter. “You got one of my masks again! Didn’t I tell you not to use my stuff?!”
“Eomma!” Saeyoung complained. “I had a huge zit on my forehead and I had to get rid of it. Don’t you want to have at least one beautiful and attractive child?” Saeyoung had an annoying smile on her face as she looked at Junsu.
Junsu’s jaw clenched at the comment. “Do you want me to operate on your face with my fork?!” Junsu raised his fork and pointed it at Saeyoung. “At least I don’t have zits popping up on my face.”
“Enough about my face.” Saeyoung ignored her oppa’s insult. “Let’s talk about the other job you supposedly have.”
“Yeah, hon. What is it anyway?” Mrs. Kim asked as she settled on one of the chairs and lifted of the cover of the plate containing the Kimbap she had made in the morning.
“Did you guys forget already? I’m painting in new coffee shop for a guy I owe money to.” Junsu got a slice with his fork and ate it.
Saeyoung laughed as he mouthed a big slice of Kimbap. “That was a job?” she swallowed the food in her mouth. “Wait. Coffee shop? Is it by chance the one near my uni?”
“Yeah. Prince Café was it?” Junsu cocked his head as he thought if he got the name right.
“That’s the place the people were raving about in my class. The girls said the workers there were model-like guys.” Saeyoung stopped herself from talking and thought about something. “Guess they missed out the ugly duckling of the bunch.” Saeyoung snickered at what she said.
Junsu rolled his eyes at his sister and didn’t take the comment to heart. “Anyway, yeah. I spent the whole day working in the café. Mr. Chan didn’t mind since it was only for a day but I still haven’t finished the mural. I still need a few more days before I can finalize the whole thing.” Junsu looked at his mom. “And so I’m kinda having trouble with the job at Torofv and the mural. I wish someone could replace me as assistant in Torofv for a while just until I finish the mural.”
Mrs. Kim thought for a while and an idea popped in her mind. “How about Saeyoung?”
“WHAT?!” Saeyoung pointed at himself. “Me? Working there with Mr. Chan?”
“Yeah. I think it’s a brilliant idea. It’ll teach you to be more responsible of things.” Mrs. Kim nodded at her own statement.
Junsu snickered at Saeyoung and held a smirk. “Guess that settles the problem. Good luck working at Torofv!”
Saeyung groaned and got one more piece of Kimbap. She chewed on it and glared at Junsu. “I hate you,” Saeyoung mouthed as she headed back to her room upstairs.
--------------------
Junsu was already applying the finishing touches on the mural. It had taken him three whole days to paint the whole thing. It was already dark but he still had some little details he just needed to do and he was done. Every now and then, the guys and the workers would complement his mural. Junsu would smile at them and say thanks.
Geunsuk in particular spent a lot of time in the areas around Junsu. He would try his best to admire Junsu’s painting techniques and maybe spark a little chat in between work. From the moment he saw Junsu lying on the ground, he found him interesting. Junsu wasn’t like the guys he would hang out with. Geunsuk noticed that Junsu didn’t care about how he dressed. He once talked to Junsu about it but Junsu told him that he preferred dressing in accordance to whatever kind of job he had to do. He said it felt much comfortable and wasn’t stressing since he didn’t fuss about his clothes.
It was that kind of character that got Geunsuk hooked. He gets what Junsu kept on mentioning - about not caring about the opinion of others and instead prioritizing one’s own desire. Jang Geunsuk was bi and he was open about it. He didn’t care about what others might say with regards to his sexual preferences. What he did made him happy so it was no reason to drag people’s comments with him and upset himself. He didn’t want to hide what he was feeling and so he expresses his self well to others.
And when he likes someone, he doesn’t hesitate and instead becomes direct and honest with his feelings.
Junsu put down the brush he used as he got to the last detail of the mural. He scanned the place, hoping to find Yoochun and ask for his opinion just in case he wanted to add something more. He couldn’t spot Yoochun in the area so he figured he might be upstairs.
The place was slowly getting cleaned up. The walls didn’t have missing wood pieces on them, the floors were varnished, the counters were topped with beautiful marble, and the windows had the large pieces of glass on. Junsu was about to head on to the second floor when he bumped into someone.
A strong pair of hands got hold of Junsu’s upper arms to steady him. Junsu looked up and saw that it was Geunsuk who got hold of him. “Oh, Junsu.”
Junsu smiled and steadied himself. Geunsuk let go of his arms and looked at the wall where Junsu painted on. “Wow, so that’s the finished output. That’s amazing.”
A light blush colored Junsu’s cheeks. With a bashful smile, Junsu averted his eyes to the mural. “Thanks…”
“Since the mural is done, you have nothing left do huh?”
Junsu nodded in reply and reverted his eyes to Geunsuk
“Will you still work here?” Geunsuk asked.
“Umm, I was just asked to do a mural,” Junsu answered.
“Do you want to work here?” Junsu heard someone say from behind him.
Junsu turned around and found Yoochun walking towards them from the stairs. Work here? Junsu was hesitant about the offer. He didn’t know anything about cafés and brewing coffee. He knew how to cook and bake but he wasn’t the best at it. The only thing he was sure of that he did best in was brewing loose tea leaves.
“You want me to work here?” Junsu repeated.
Yoochun scratched his head and pocketed a hand. “Well, I already got the boys as staff here but I figured, since you’re already working for me, I might as well hire you.”
“Uh…” Junsu began.
“Hire him!” Jaesuk’s head popped out from the kitchen doors.
“Yeah, hyung! Hire him!” Changmin excitedly said as he held a broom at the patio, helping Yunho clean the floor.
“I’ll hire him if he wants to be hired.” Yoochun looked at Junsu, waiting for his reply.
Junsu thought about it and decided to accept the offer. He had provided half of the money he owed the man but to pay off the rest with just a mural was not enough.
“I guess,” Junsu began. “I pretty much owe you more than just the mural.”
Yoochun nodded at her response. “Good thinking,” he complimented. “Guess you’re hired then.”
“Well, since the issue is now solved, Geunsuk!” Yunho called out Geunsuk from the patio. “Help us sweep off the wood shavings here. We kinda need the help.”
“Alright, alright!” Geunsuk jogged to the patio, leaving Yoochun and Junsu alone in the same spot.
Yoochun glanced at the mural and was amazed at how intricate the details were. He walked closer to get a good look at the girl’s face but he spotted a piece of paper on the floor. He picked it up and saw that a drawing was on it that looked like a café. “What’s this?”
Junsu looked at what Yoochun was holding and realized that it was his doodle of a design for the café. During his breaks, Junsu would look around the café and draw an interior for it with all the furniture and decorations. “Oh, that’s nothing.” Junsu tried to grab the piece of paper but Yoochun was quicker and lifted it with both hands. Junsu tried to reach for it but Yoochun kept on jerking it higher.
“I like it. Can I use this for the café?” Yoochun faced Junsu to the right who was reaching up, trying to get hold of the paper. Both of their faces were just an inch away and they froze for a few seconds.
Junsu’s heart started beating fast but he couldn’t tear his gaze off of Yoochun’s eyes. They were just beautiful and so captivating. Yoochun was also drawn in to Junsu’s brown orbs. They were dark brown but it was a soft brown that made his body relax. Yoochun’s eyes slowly trailed down to Junsu’s lips and seconds later he realized that he was staring at them.
Not wanting to get things more awkward than it was, Yoochun brought down both his hands and Junsu backed away with his face looking down. Yoochun cleared his throat and pointed to the paper. “So, can I use this? We were having some trouble with the interior designing since we have a specific budget for the café. This would be a great basis for choosing the furniture.”
Junsu tried to hide his reddened face and still had his face facing the ground. “Uh… Sure. Go ahead.”
“Alright then. Thanks!” Yoochun looked at his watch and saw that it was already quarter to eight. “You should head home now. It’s late and the streets are dark. Just leave your painting tools here tonight. You can bring them home tomorrow.”
Shocked by Yoochun’s concern, Junsu nodded slowly and got his bag on the floor. He willed his legs to walk out of the building and head to the streets. As Junsu walked further, his heart had calmed down but he couldn’t take his mind off of Yoochun’s eyes. This feels so strange. Why are you going all flippy, heart? Junsu took a deep breath and headed on home. For a mean guy, he shockingly has a soft side in him. Junsu shook his head and had a big smile plastered on his face until he reached his bedroom.
