I think that flavor text is critical on each of our "avatar cards". It helps to explain why a card does what it does, and it links the abilities to the person in question.
Also, the "counters" ability was mostly because while some counterspells like dismiss or exclude are okay in multiplayer because they offer some card advantage, I don't think it is generally a good idea to try to play counters in multiplayer. Too many threats to bother with.
The life gain ability was specifically addressing life gain SPELLS. Exalted angel is great, but life gain spells aside from Pulse of the Fields are not worth your time.
The spell part was deleted by accident. I'll be sure to bring it back.
The rule-creating aspect makes sense for white (Rule of Law) and the no-life-gain ability makes sense for red (Sulfuric Vortex). With the countering ability gone, I don't see much need for blue. So why not make it red/white? The whole idea of strategy also is red/white, as per cards like Master Warcraft.
I also think that the power and toughness are too high, insofar as it's supposed to be you. What if we made it WR for a 1/1?
The picture is no good if it's not going to be blue anymore. Any suggestions?
1/1 is fine. I just figured that I could beat up most of our friends, so I wanted to be bigger than the cards I made for them :-p
Changing the picture on any of these might be okay:

I kind of like the idea of putting me on Starke of Rath, though.
As for the card I thought of for Jared, I would suggest splicing his face onto: Circu, Dimir Lobotomist Chainer, Dementia Master Greel, Mind Raker Szdek, Lord of Secrets
depending on which picture your picture of him fits with most seamlessly.
