Sometimes it seems like happiness is cheap and expendable when you don't have to work to overcome the negativity that inevitably lingers in your mind.

I am so burnt out.

...Sometimes we try so hard to become disconnected with a past experience that we successfully clear it from our heads. Sadly, these things sometimes resurface...and open our eyes to the world of hurt we've potentially put ourselves into.
