A smackle of entries. . .

Feb 06, 2006 12:05

The first entry is from Friday, but every other entry in this LJ entry has been pieced together from other entries that never really stood on their own. Either they were the starts of entries that never got finished (the oldest is from 10/22/2004), or they didn't fit anywhere else. Most of the quotes were just picked up along the way, some being ( Read more... )

1. So long as we're all in agreement that there are disgusting things that one can do to fries, I think that's all that's needed.

2. I haven't made those lists. I'm still musing about them.

3. Yes, it's probably predictable, but then, it's interesting to me to ask the question.

I finally have to say it ... I don't know what you mean by "reality is a consensus opinion"; subjectivism, even intersubjectivism, doesn't make sense to me. Part of it is that it takes away something I want from magic as the art and science of causing change in reality in conformity with will; the part of making a real change. It doesn't matter if other people ignore it, or aren't perceptive enough to see it, or discount it as a "coincidence", or blow it up into a "miracle"; it's still there. The Sun was a gigantic ball of burning hydrogen before we discovered it to be; we didn't make it a gigantic ball of burning hydrogen, we discovered that about it.

I think that I can agree with everything except the last sentence. . .

I thought that might be standard :) But it's the best I can offer. I really like his books.

I became the designated door-opener for the cats at one household I used to frequent.

I like the idea of the magick-K remover. I'm not sure I can think of any other or better task for such an entity.

Not really. chronarchy February 6 2006, 18:27:41 UTC
It's all I do. Open a door for cat X, and cat Y sits in the doorway and lets Z, A, and B continue through unmolested.

*nods* When thinking of things to make an entity for, that was the only option that seemed sensible, really.

I'll be sure to post the information here, when I get it done, so that you, too, can play with it. :)

You can add my name to the petition to remove the "k" from "magick". Ugh...*shudder*.

I like that writer a lot. He and I should be friends. I'll write him a letter if he's alive and I can figure out where; he's bound to agree.

His quote on audacity reminds me of my brief stint on the debate team. I don't like to talk about it much because being on one is dorky, but damn if audacity didn't make it hilariously fun every time. Or at least, hilariously fun to ME... I think that's what pulled me into mock trial. :D

As for being sick, BAH. That's happened to me in an unpleasant place before and man does it suck. Luckily Tina picked you up -- there's a good kid! Remember that you could always call/message me, too, even though it would take me a bit to drive over there from Delaware. One should never be abysmally sick alone.

Finally, Zero sums up one of your thoughts --

"So save your prayers... for when we're really gonna need 'em. Throw out your cares and fly! Wanna go for a ride...?"

She didn't pick me up. I stubbornly stayed until I could walk again and then left the office on my own.

And then collapsed when I got home.

FYI, "smackle" is a reference to the band I was briefly part of in High School. The album title was "A Smackle of Verse for the Sad and the Dead".

Good luck finding that one. . .
