Very good. I don't know if you get into it elsewhere, but perhaps a small section on dealing with difficult people may be of some use?

I'm not sure if my method for dealing with difficult people (i.e. ignore them of befriend them) is really useful to the greater majority of ADF. :)

But it is. Your way is an excellent example of what should be done; although not too sure on the making friends part... but being nice or ignoring are both good. Mine is semi bad: I say as little as possible to them so they go away (re: "sure. whatever") or ignore them. Maybe you should poke leadership to get what different people do. Many people do not know how to deal with passive aggressive people, or those people who always point fingers at everyone else but themselves (nooo, they don't have issues).

Excellent essay! I especially like your emphasis on thinking about the Nine Virtues & how they apply to the situation. The only thing I notice isn't really covered is illicit substances, which is a dicey issue on many levels.

I hope this is for the GOH. If not, it ought to be there.

It is. I believe it's the last essay we need.

I didn't want to cover illicit substances for the most part. I see that as a generally personal issue, and, really, if I address it, then right there, pow! Proof that we have users and abusers in ADF. Damn annoying, that.

Besides, moderation covers it well.

I could- although you might want to add something about "those who chose not to indulge for whatever reason" rather than focusing on those in recovery. Recovery's a good thing to mention, but some folks just don't drink because they don't want to (and when it comes to other things, then it's even more likely that they simply chose not to)

"It could", not "I could".

As usual, this is a coherent, thoughtful essay that seems to cover all the important bases.

So when is the GOH coming out? I'm not about to organize a grove anytime soon, but I think I can probably learn something from it anyway.

This being, I understand, the last essay, hopefully very soon. If there are more essays, then it could be a while.
