Whee!!!
So much is happening!
First off, my Arwen gown shipped today! Yay! Now I need to find shoes and elf ears and I can wear it for Halloween!
Second, Sajuka's Officer's uniform is all done!!! We're still working on the rank bars, and the greeblies need pin backs, and I don't actually have hats in my hand yet, but the sewing on his is all done, and it looks great, if I have to say so myself! I'm so excited, because I made it all by myself! In addition to the embellishments listed just now, I also need to fix my sleeves and remove some pleats that shouldn't be there, and possibly fix the alignment of my bib snaps and velcro if I have time. We'll have to see.
Today I want to head over to the mall and try to find a small black purse to which I can stick an Imperial Cog and carry with my Officer's uniform. I may not be able to use it this weekend, but I want it just in case. I also need to pick up some new hairbands, and while I'm there I might as well stop at Best Buy and pick up Batman Begins. I also may need to run over to the museum to pick up hats from JediGirl. All this in amongst 3 meetings today plus getting work done... Sure, I can handle it, right? :-)
The Museum of Science Gala is this weekend. There's an informal 501st party at FlatTop Johnnie's in Kendall Square tomorrow night. One of the guys reserved 4 tables for us. A lot of people are coming in from out of town, so this is a fun hanging out event for Friday. Then we have to be at the museum at 10 on Saturday. We get a sneak peak at the exhibit, then at noon we're getting instructions on our duties from Anthony Daniels, we suit up at 4, have to be on the floor at 5, people show up at 5:30, and the event begins at 6. It'll be a long day, but it'll be fun!
Oh, and no business trip for me on Monday. Budget issues, apparently. Oh well. Less for me to worry about is a good thing, I think. I need to find out what's going on at the MOS on Sunday, and maybe offer our services now that I don't have to be on a plane at the crack-o-dawn Monday.
Oh, and I signed up for NaNo WriMo yesterday. I will be posting a poll shortly regarding my two options, because I just can't decide. I actually got the username "Crysta", which is pretty cool. I found and friended nasturtium, obsessed1, confettiofstars, jedimara77, and demarazare. If anyone else is doing NaNo WriMo, post with your NaNo username so I can friend you. :-)
EDIT (10:40 AM): Just got back from the mall. Scored on the hairbands and Batman, plus a bonus pack of Sprees. Unfortunately on the slippers and purse, I didn't really have enough time. I checked Sears and Filenes, but they're a) too expensive and b) I want something simple, which they don't seem to have.
