I'm glad you're giving it another go--it's always better if you can focus on something you want to do. It's also interesting how many of my friends seem to be moving towards a usability/UX angle in their work and studies. :)
Something I think you would love (it loses a bit of its effect without an accompanying video): Everything I Know About Accessibility I Learned From Star Wars, at SXSW Interactive this year. It's more of a fun intro to accessibility principles, rather than anything groundbreaking, but it was excellent. :) It's an hour-long podcast. (There were bits of digital artwork interspersed; I just found them here. Derek refers to them on and off throughout the presentation, but essentially they're just illustrations of screencaps from the films. Nice ones, though.)
It's also interesting how one major change seems to bring about many others. :) I hope this all works out for you!
