Made an appointment for tomorrow, noon. Here's hoping they can give me same day service on the new lenses. I'd like to keep my frames, but I can't drive home without my glasses

Heh. I really wasn't trying to make people feel bad. It was just a rant on my part, being sick of wearing the stupid things. :) Kind of like the rant of the curly haired girl who wishes her hair were straight and can't understand why a girl with nice straight hair would want to perm it.
I kinda have a thing for glasses too. Which isn't in ANY way to minimize eye disability, because I do have the same "kill it with fire" reaction to people who use canes as fashion accessories. I did, though, find a lot of frames that would look awesome on me should I ever need them while glasses-shopping with Rob last time. If I had a lot of extra money, I'd get a pair made up with only magnification lenses-- I've found "reading glasses" really useful for some craftwork.
That's true. Lots of people enjoy making reading glasses an accessory, as evidenced by the huge racks of the crazy looking things at drugstores. I'm guessing some of them do it to minimize how upset they are that they need glasses though. :) As I said above, I was just ranting a bit, being annoyed at having to wear them for the rest of my life. Ah well. At least I got a few good years in there.
Yep. 8 years ago. I got 7 good years out of it. Don't regret it in the least, just wish it could have gone a little longer. It is quite nice to still be able to see past the end of my nose though. I'm honestly not sure how much worse they can get. There can't be that much more room in my head for them to elongate much further.
