Friday Five...

Okay, so this is the very first Friday Five. This week's Five is what I learned this week.

1) You can really get a ton of cleaning done when you don't have any DSL because a big tractor trailer came down your street and ripped your phone line from both the pole and your house. The internet is a huge time suck.

2) The phone company doesn't care what ( Read more... )

What shade of brown did you pick? I'm painting my bedroom brown, and keep going to pick up sample thingies of browns, then realizing when I get home that I've gathered up every WRONG shade of brown ! Like you, the bedrooms of my house were the last to get decent attention. Mine's lavendar right now, and I took a look around and suddenly realized: I'm not 12 anymore!

And hey - the name's not Anonymous - it's me, Midnight Muse :) *waves*

It's a really light, creamy brown from Behr called Baked Scone. The ceiling is a tad darker, but still warm and creamy, not too red, called Powdered Allspice. When the girl swabbed it on the top of the can it seemed a little lighter than I thought it would be, but our room is so small if we make it too dark it'll make the room look even smaller.

You probably want something warm, meaning more yellow than red (yes, I know my color wheel!). I had one picked at first called Copper Pot, but it was totally too red, too bronzey, and would have clashed with every brown and red in the room.

ooh, that sounds lovely ! Thing is, I worry about the carpet in my room - which is a sort of blueish grey. I suppose that'll go with anything, really.

Man, I love painting :D

I have to go to the paint shop tomorrow. I promised my son I'd paint his room. He wanted it to be orange. I'm like, I don't think so. We settled on a blue/green shade. I had to go the other day to get color chips for our painters. Now that was a major pain. They're painting the exterior of our house plus the patio and the homeowner association wants it to be within the same color range. I had to go through this huge book looking for approved paint colors with my six-year-old swirling around in the chair. Well, I guess it could have been worse. The sales clerk told me earlier a lady brought in her children who ended up playing with razors. She got mad at the clerks.
