haha, there's no question that the cover image for Dark Road to Darjeeling is Twilight-esque. I wonder why the publisher decided to do that? Are they just trying to appeal to Twilight's many fans? Or are they implying some kind of similarity between the books?
I devoutly hope it's not the latter! I think this is just a subtle (or not-so-subtle) marketing ploy: "Hey, Twilight had a cover like this and it was a huge best-seller, so hopefully that will work for our book too!" I'm crossing my fingers that the similarity between the two books ends there!
Haha the Twilight-esque of the Raybourn cover severely turns me off, but I adore the title, it's so pretty, is she talking about the Darjeeling tea?
Not such a big fan of the multilayered look and I haven't yet read any Cassandra Clare novels, though people keep reccing me and I know the author from her infamous Harry Potter fanfiction scandal lol.
Looking forward for your reviews on these, whenever they may come out!
I believe Raybourn is talking about the tea, or possibly the region in India whence the tea comes. (That's right, whence!) I think the protagonist of the novel travels to India at some point.
I haven't read any Cassandra Clare either -- I'd heard various buzz about her Mortal Instruments trilogy (which was contemporary and involved vampires), but was never curious enough to read it (because it was contemporary and involved vampires). This new series is steampunk, though, which automatically makes me more interested!
I shall definitely post reviews if/when I read these books. Seriously, try and stop me! :)
