Day 15

Day 15. Favorite love confession from the films.

I narrowed it down to two choices, and I'm going to share them both (because I can, damn it!), but I think this one has to be my top pick:

This is the proposal scene from "Emma" 1996, and you have to admit, it's absolutely lovely. The music, the scenery, the Jeremy Northam...it's all good. :) Seriously ( Read more... )

True, "Maybe it is our imperfections that make us so perfect for one another" is a little corny but for me it's a little like As Good As It Gets "You make we wanted to be a better man". Cute and catchy.

"The Keira Knightley version" has never been my favorite but the might-be-kiss scene is great tempting both Lizzy and ourselves. It's very Darcy-like and very vexing

You're right...sometimes the cheesy lines are still good. :) My favorite line in the scene is where he says "I came to be near you." It makes me melt every time!

I'm always impressed with Matthew MacFadyen. If you haven't seen him in Litte Dorrit you really should. :-)

Yes, "Little Dorrit" was great -- and Matthew MacFadyen was an excellent Arthur Clennam!

OMG the rain sequence in P&P05 is by far my favourite (have I embedded it or mentioned it in my entries recently? Or maybe I've watched that sequence too many times haha). It kills me every time he does that little almost-kiss move. Plus, Matthew MacFadyen's eyes in this scene is just O_O <3

Jeremy Northam was just <3 as Mr. Knightley and his confession was so sweet. I love the bit where he's like "I rode through the rain". It's LOL but so cute xD He needs to do more period dramas from the 19th century, he looked good with a cravat =D

Ooh, MacFadyen does have great eyes. :) It may be a bit of a cliche to do that scene in the rain (with an ominous clap of thunder to boot), but darn it, it works.

And I totally agree about Jeremy Northam doing more period dramas. The man does wear a cravat extremely well...though, frankly, a lot of men would be improved by them. :) "I rode through the rain" is such a great line too.

Oh yes, favorite scene in the Keira Knightly version! :) Love that setting along with what happens.

It's definitely a great setting. Although, at the very end of the clip, part of me was wondering what Keira Knightley was doing at the Jefferson Memorial...
