This thing with our youngest just is very weird.  He's settled, then he's not.  I feel like PANS is a slinky, and our son is an ant.  He makes some progress, and if on the one side of the slinky, he moves up, and things are fine, but then he end up on the opposite side and things are not fine. Been in contact with the doctor today.  He says chewing on things can be a candida/yeast.  Asa was chewing on a spoon at lunch time yesterday, and has chewed on plates at meal times.  He had crossed eyes during lunch as well, and the doctor wants me to take him to see someone local when this happens if it does again.

Some people have been so wonderful and supportive through our recent walk into a PANS life for our son. Our friend from all over, our church members (also friends), family, and co-workers, our son's dance teachers, and many others have taken an interest in his situation and are praying for him and encouraging him. I think today was a good one.  There again was issue with my 9 year old wanting to do video games all day.  But he was able to get school in, play outside (since it was not freezing outside) and draw.  He played with his sister, and helped do some chores.  He took a shower this morning, made his bed, and more.  And he did not throw any fits.

On another note, can't get the kid to shower often.  And he wears the same clothes day after day.  Got him to agree to change his clothes, but not to shower.

Another note, he will sometimes tell me, "you said I can play minecraft until I beat this part."  No, clearly I said you can play for 5 minutes more, not until you beat it.   I think he does ( Read more... )

My youngest woke before 9 and had his breakfast (toast and pb), and medicines.  Came down and I allowed a game for about 30 minutes. Sunday, church day.  Got him up and he was able to get going and ready for church.  Ready meant a clean shirt.  Noticed that he has not taken a shower in a few days, and didn't bother him about it though we did ask that he do it.  He did sleep downstairs last night, and given the intrusive feelings last night, was amazed we got him up and out of ( Read more... )

Tomorrow is his last steroid pill.  As the days have gone by, my youngest's behaviors have gotten more and more difficult.  First, he's been sleeping in so late.  Today was no exception.  He was less compliant overall.  Not horrible once he got going, but not great.  He did work on school.  He did clean up some of his room for a short stint.  He ( Read more... )
