I agree 100%. I figure, since we can't go backwards in time, we continually get closer to the end times :) Am I afraid ? No, of course not. If I die before then, I'll be in heaven. If I am alive, I'll be caught up in the air. Either way, I won't be on earth during the Tribulation.
You could die in the next 10 seconds from any number of things, so how much does it matter if these are the end times or not? Live a Christ-centered life and Jesus will return when He wants to.
I actually studied Matthew 24 recently and, first and foremost, I agree with the iamdigitalis' first comment. However, I listen to a preacher's sermons online during my study and he pointed out something very interesting about the chapter. If you notice, Jesus says that wars, rumors of wars, nations rising against nations, famines, pestilences, and earthquakes "are the beginning of the sorrows" (verse 8). So these occurrences are just the beginning and they basically started the moment Jesus left the earth. Then Jesus goes on to say that we'll be hated for His name's sake, people will hate and betray one another, false prophets will come, lawlessness will abound and the love of many will grow cold. Verse 14 goes on saying the "gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations and THEN the end will come

When viewed from the perspective of eternity the return of Christ os just a few clicks of the clock away and has been since Pentecost. Paul believed and preached that he was living in the End Times. I believe that it is as true today as it was 2000 years ago.
Take comfort in this. God holds you in his hands, with his wings he shelters you and protects you. Whatever trial or tribulation lies in store for us, be they as harsh as the tribulation of Diocletian, be they as severe as the tribulations of WWII, be they as terrible as Mao's Great Leaps, Christ will preserve and protect his Church. You have nothing to fear. What did the Paul say? If God is for us, who can be against us?
Exactly. Jesus said to watch for signs, so we should do that; but He also said He will come as a thief in the night. We should always assume, but never presume, that He is coming soon.
What iamdigitalis and gunslnger said. I think Christian pastors would better serve their flocks by taking the time they spend on the End Times and using it instead to preach the daily walk with Christ.

But of that day and hour no one knows, neither the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father alone.
