I just mentioned to
lifeflowson that lately my faith has been slipping. It started with another anxiety relapse this weekend. I read the scriptures over and over again, and I hummed "A Mighty Fortress is Our God" every chance I could. Nothing could take the worry away. My fiance and my friends have all written me long emails...
Start by taking joy in the fact that you have friends who love you and really care about you.

I've felt like that before in my walk with God. That's why I kept falling away. This time though is different, lately I've thought that its due to the fact that the last 8 years I have been a really awful (really awful) person and being back in Gods good graces is just so incredibly mind-blowing and humbling to me. Not that I'm suggesting you go out and be awful :) I'm just sayin thats why I think this time is different for me. ANYWAY - I don't really have any advice for you except to just keep seeking God even when you don't feel it. Lately my "this applies to EVERYTHING" scripture has been: "Seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness and all of these things will be added to you" Don't worry about anything but seeking God, he will take care of the rest of you.
I've been praying for you daily, you're on my heart and I have confidence that in the long run you'll find your place in God.

A good (by good I mean amazing) method of discerning God's voice among the enemy's was written by St. Ignatius:
Ignatian Rules of Spiritual Discernment
Don't worry, I'm totally the emo kid, too. But when feelings and thoughts get me stressed or wacked out I just sit back and think about these rules and usually the shallow transparency of the devil makes itself apparent.
Please don't let the fact that this particular article was written by a Catholic priest throw you (or that St. Ignatius was Catholic himself). Ignatius' rules are an awesome *Christian* tool. I think they may help you.
