Heading Down the Highway

What: Giles and Faith are going to NO, and they run into Riley

After spending another night in a sleazy hotel, Giles and Faith got back on the road. The drive wasn't much further, but the drive took them through the complete nothingness of highways until they would actually arrive. Not exactly the most thrilling of drives. Still, soon they would be in New Orleans, and then they would actually be able to do a little detective work on finding this recent rogue Slayer.
While driving down the highway, Giles started thinking about Buffy. Since they were technically going to be in the same city, how could he not think of her? Would they run into one another? How would she react to him being there. Of course, this wasn't supposed to be a permanent stay or anything, but she would probably take offense to him being anywhere near her at the moment. He wondered how Willow, Xander, and Dawn were doing as well. Were they doing OK? Last he had heard, Dawn was a giantess after being cursed somehow. He didn't even know what would have that kind of power, other than Willow, of course.
As he was driving, he saw someone up ahead, walking down the road, thumb stuck out. "Think we should give the poor man a lift, especially in this humidity?" Giles asked Faith, only half serious. He wasn't one for usually picking up hitchhikers, but the two of them were more than capable of taking care of themselves. What was there to really fear?
