Mitchell blinked, pulling the phone out of his pocket while Annie and George chattered across the pub table.

... And so Mitchell, who had been perfectly fine up until the 'not-dirty' and 'I won't object if' parts, sent a very confused voicemail back.

And then spent about fifteen minutes debating whether or not to show up anyway. Considering she didn't answer his voicemail, though, he was starting to doubt the sense of that.
