What a strange night

So basically, my parents finally realized that my current job didn't have to be THE JOB, and started watching out for other opportunities out there while I struggled in anger and pain. They told me about this start-up animation company which is looking for a translator, and I read its recruitment info and was very curious about it because it said ( Read more... )

Congrats! That sounds like an exciting opportunity and opportunities sometimes come with risks. At least you've got time to weigh up the pros and cons of taking the position rather than having to decide on the spot.

Yes. I think I'd like a second meeting, hopefully with other core team members. I've got the change to look up the company in website of State Administration for Industry and Commerce of P.R.C, and the information all looks fine right now. I'm checking other animation-related positions in the company too, and am very interested. This one definitely has the potential of being the dream job for me...

Congrats honey. If they're start up you get chance to come in on the ground floor and be there to watch this amazing place grow.

Yes. I'm watching my current company growing as well, but I don't feel very connected to it, though my work definitely contribute to its growing, as support, but I'd like to see my contribution more connected to the core products. So yeah if this start up is solid then it should be the best opportunity for me.

Best of luck! This sounds like it could be amazing! I spent nineteen years at my last job, the last five of which were absolutely miserable, and finally this year in february got a new one that makes me so happy. It makes such a huge difference <3

19 years! You are one dedicated contributor!
If it's for stability, then my current job is definitely good and the company really has bright future, I know. But I'd like to see my effort is put directly into the core products instead of being no more than support. So if this start up later offers me something that makes me really believes in it then I'll go without doubt.

I meant to come back a long time ago and say congrats on finding an opportunity that sounds like a much better fit for you and will (hopefully) enable to do something you enjoy. That's great that they're giving you that much time to think.

Yeah I talked with the CEO and he's the first person in real life who seriously talks about creating stories that stuck and making something bigger than yourself, and that making a good animation movie takes years... so yeah, I'm gonna join them even though I expect a lit of challenges in the future. I don't care if they will succeed or fail. This may be the only one time I get to work with people like him. I'll send them the form over the weekend and hopefullly join in Jan.
