Not incredibly. I think you get one free egg in every game after the second generation. That's not counting all the people that give you free Pokeballs, rare candies, TM's, rate nicknames, free Pokemon massages, and want to trade Pokemon with you.

The eggs really are weird in this version of the game. But I got one at Christmas, and it ended up pretty awesome.
