Oliver leaned over and kissed her temple lightly, sliding one arm around her back to help her keep balanced. "I know," he murmured soothingly, rubbing her back gently.
She leaned against him and sighed once more, deeply. "I'm scaring you." It wasn't a question. He had barely said anything after the doctor told her she should go home.

His eyes widened a little at her utterance. He raked a hand through his hair. "Listen to me. My fiancee is in labor in your hospital on this elevator. You need to get someone to get us out of here now!"
He forced himself to take another deep breath to avoid yelling at the woman on the other end of the line. "Just get someone to get us out of here as soon as possible. Please." He hung up the phone and quickly moved over to Chloe's side once more, reaching out and cupping her cheek in his hand.
A couple of hours later, Oliver was holding the tiny, screaming newborn in his arms, tears in his eyes as he stared down at her. His gaze shifted to Chloe, his throat tight. "Wow."
She could barely breathe as she laid down on the cold floor of the elevator, her legs trembling, her hair sticking to her face, but she still lifted her head when she heard her daughter crying for the first time, her own eyes tearing up even more.
