Oh god. I am a fucking moron! *hugest facepalm evar* I had the cables in the wrong slots for my modem! Agh! Wasted my entire morning and the guy comes and he's like, 'Oh, this is in the wrong spot!' Luckily, Darwin awards are only awarded posthumously, and plugging cables in wrong will only kill you if there's high voltage involved. :D

I totally felt like a doofus. I had the instructions out and everything, but I guess I just figured it was the same problem as at my last place and didn't really look too hard at what I'd done. *shakes head*

I am. Not really...unpacked, mind you, but moved out for sure. Heh. Things are plodding along turtle-like...but they'll get there.

How's your move gone?

Oh, don't worry, I'm told that unpacking can take up to a year. *nods* Yeah, some of our stuff are in boxes, still. Why can't I just leave them there? *g* And we have to do some touch ups to the house because the people who did the tiles didn't bother covering up the cement splotches. I've become quite the handywoman, heh.

And we don't have phone lines here. I mean, I see the telephone poles with the wiring and everything, but they (Telekom) keep telling us 'no, no phone lines available, you're a new area, haven't got things set up yet etc'. Very iritating, since we can't have fixed-line broadband
at that and have to depend on wireless which is rather spotty. Hmph.

But other than that, the house is heavenly. *beams*
