The Infamous Oracle

Aside from those very new to my Livejournal friends list (and hello to you few, welcome to the insanity that is my brain), you will remember me making a cryptic post several weeks ago regarding a strange, troubling oracle I received from Hermes.

The message I received that day, using the Homeric Oracle, was thus:

663 - "In no wise do I think he will ( Read more... )

Well, now that I've seen this, I will just try to work off this for my own divination and see if I can get any further information (this may be all you get, you know how it is).

I'm wondering though... if a new god is approaching, did the first line of your oracle ("in no wise...") refer to the new god or to Hermes? Because either way it seems a bit confusing. Does it mean that the new god will be in your life but won't take you as "his" because you already belong to Hermes? Hmm...

I think its very likely all that I will get. I've attempted to ask Hermes for further details, but he is giving me no answer one way or another, except that he will never be specific. I may just have to wait until the third party decides its time. But I do still want to hear what you and Apollon will have to say. :-)

I tended to focus on the "nor is it proper" line; when is it not proper to take something for yourself, when it already belongs to someone else. Looks like someone owns me, either way. The other may have an important part in my life, but still a secondary one.

Right now, I'm thinking the line refers to the other one. I've had so many indications of specifically Hermes being the primary guiding force in my life, they've been going on for a very long time now. Of course there is the possibility I've been entirely wrong.

In my admittedly-limited experience, the Norse deities are usually pretty direct about who they are. It's been the Hellenic gods that seem so very fond of making you guess. :) That may just be me and the deities I've happened to have dealt with, of course.

It sounds as if you're going to be having quite a time of it, in any case!

I'm not sure that its about making me guess. I was entirely unaware of the possibility of some other god than Hermes around me until my room mate said something and now this oracle; she wasn't the only person that got the Norse impression either. I think, and Renee has said she thinks as well, that its more that they're not ready, or the time isn't right for some reason, to let me know that they're there. But who knows?

Yeah, going to be a lot of fun. :-P
