Nice analysis, thank you. I wanted to mention that some of the words seem to have disappeared behind the screencaps:-(.

Shouldn't. The images are floated not absolute positioned, and if one has a browser that knows CSS there isn't any issue. :)

It's not, it's an IE float error. The content might be split oddly but it can't be covered up.

PS - don't use IE. It allows spy ware and it renders image tags incorrectly.

I know a lot of people took Clark's "den mother" snipe as sexist, but I didn't. I think it was meant to be a quip about Dinah's role as a founding member and her taking presidence
That's it exactly. And additionally, I thought it was a nod to the fact that Black Canary is currently the Chairwoman of the JLA in the comics.

Yes! I thought it was a nod to her current role as well.

But I guess if one doesn't know the comic character, it's going to be lost and taken not quite the right way.

Very good review, Chiri. You touched on all of the major themes the episode was looking at, IMO. I agree with all your observations here.

I agree with your thoughts about Ollie busting Clark's chops every time he appears in an ep...it's starting to get a little old *shrugs*. I have a sneaking feeling that Oliver is going to factor more largely into SV's end game than I would like. I hope I'm wrong about that.

Thanks.

I think Ollie might figure in but at the same time, the rest of the JL might figure in. Or might not - as long as that JLU movie is hanging around, it might go no where.

I think the whole reason for the ring was to show that she and Ollie were a like.

Honestly this episode had SO many parallels (Clark and Ollie, Ollie and Lex, Dinah and EDlo, Edlo and Lana, Lana and Chloe, Chloe and Dinah, Clark and Lex, Lionel and Lana, Lex and Lionel, Ollie and Chloe, Lex and Dinah, Dinah and Ollie) that it made my brain spin trying to nail them all down.

The cap of Lois and Dinah in the elevator reminds me of what I think is her worst trait: Her sanctimonious attitude.

God yes, Agreed.

You're a genius. I noticed the Chloe/Dinah parallels, and I noticed the Lois/Lana parallels, but I didn't really think about how Oliver goes through Clark's lifetime of romantic entanglements in the space of this one episode.

Awh. Well it's a season or so, but yeah. He's setting up where Clark is headed (and Dinah for Chloe, should be.) Whci is funny is Clark we can see recognizes this ahead of time but can't for himself. Silly alien.

Also, I really thought they did a good job of showing that Chloe would *not* become the ( ... )
