I know a lot of people are 'death nell' but I'm not. I thought parts were funny, parts were equally, and parts were meh. And I thought some of the actors definately didn't try too hard. But cut for spoilers including some for upcoming episodes. :)

Oh, Smallville. What am I going to do with you? )

You really do like to talk a lot woman. Geez. :p

But come on now. That Kalana kiss wasn't gross. Tongue action means consentual kiss...not forced kiss. *wink* At least that was better to watch than Lois's fake assets. I swear I was jumping back in my chair when Kal popped her top. I thought those things would hit me in the face. Could have lived without that close-up for sure.

I... do. HAHA. YOU should know this!!!

Oh I was okay with it once it got to the draw back. But it was the part where she was pushing him away and he *still* went in that I was like "GEEZE, Clark, lay off. That's the ick! Leave her alone already!!"

But to set up for Lana's emotional draw back, it's the most I've felt for her in quite a long time. KK was amaaaazing.

It was horrible. The quick cuts made me laugh. They literally have so little chemistry they have to use long shots and select clips with the most chemistry and mash together in a n attempt.

Could have lived without that close-up for sure.Erica knew what she was hired for. I mean it's just par for the course anymore. Which is kind of pathetic ( ... )

It at least sit better once she was kind of into it. MAybe they were going for a Goldfinger-esque want it but didn't. But it lingered way to long on the 'didn't' for me to really feel comfortable (especially on rewatch) and I think we weren't supposed to feel very comfortable with it.

OF course I'm very much a supporter of no mean NO. Stop, hault, cease, desist. No. No. And pushing away means no. IMO they should of just had her kiss him and they would of avoided the whole gross out point of it.

Very good observation, Chi! I took as a phony anvil that only applied to this episode, but I didn't catch Chloe's "next."

Thank you! The 'next' hit me because it implies multiples; EDLois is not the end point? Just another timestamp on that relationship. Remember, this Clark can change the future too.

I mean, it was porn music!

Really BAD porn music.

And it allowed Clark to have a reason for continuing his tryst with her, so he could stroke his own ego.

Totally. It was about him getting all the adulation he's not gotten. Ego (Clark) realizes there are more important things and Superego (Kal-El) accepts it and goes on. But Id (Kal) wants praise and worship.

I love Jimmy to pieces, but he was pretty transparent here: He wanted to come first with Chloe, and Clark gets in the way of that. I understand him not wanting to share Valentine's Day with another guy, but it seems he wants to cut Clark out completely.Totally; he has no faith in Chloe nor any desire to. And what is so so sad is that even if Chloe reminds him (just ( ... )

And way to drop the manipulative maid of honor bit Lana! (Silver Age Lana did a similar thing to SilverAgeLois in Lois Lane #66, after she mind whammied Superman into proposing.)
I knew something similiar happened in the comics... I told my dad that. I just couldn't put my finger on it.

- Linda Lake's office; EDLois doesn't want to do it in an office, but Clark does. (Someone cue up the 'on Chloe's desk fic' now.)
LMAO You know what's funny about you saying that? In AU story I've been writing for my friend, we're planning for Kaloe sex on Chloe's desk in our version of Crimson. :p

And EDLois is in a black choker, black coat, black nets/tights, black belt, and black dress. She's missing the fishnets and floopy boots (which are also not in JLU) but hello Golden Age Black Canary.
I noticed the black getup and the choker, and something about it struck me as familiar, but I so didn't make the Black Canary connection. Nice catch.

but they are so Clana and it's just hard to care because they've not spent the time there. "Maybe we should ( ... )

I'm seeing the Spring Formal in Tempest as one, and Vessel as another, but we can only assume that the third is on its way.

It'd say the Spring Formal in Tempest, and the Prom in Spirit. By the third ball the prince covers the road with tar so he catches her gold shoe or her fur shoe or her silk shoe (glass came with Perrault) and then goes on a mission to find her. I'm not talking about specific ones though wiki has some great info about it.

It's clearly something he's been thinking about.

Thank you. I don't know a ton about Canary but the color sches make me want to go through them and find caps. The curly hair too.

I seriously saw that scene as a parallel to Clana in Reckoning. Though a lot of Noisers claim ( ... )

You know, honestly, I thought about the Prom in Spirit much later. The third could easily be any given future event... perhaps some sort of formal party or something... maybe it's there where Clark realizes he's in love with her or something, and that's when it starts where he sets out on his "mission" to prove he's worth it, after screwing up so many times. I'll have to look that up on Wiki. I love the story of Cinderella, no matter which version it may be. :)

Obviously... and that's seriously just hot. lol

I don't know much about the Black Canary, either, but I do recall at least two of her costumes. I remember a site from a few years ago that was all about her, but I've forgotten the link now. They had pictures of all her costumes.

Chiri, you have just given me an epiphany.

It NEVER occurred to me that CHLOE was also keeping Clark in her back pocket. I was just fuming over the confession by Clark that he knew how Chloe felt and was keeping her in his back pocket while still trying to work things out with Lana (and wanted to kiss EDLois) but now, after your post, I realize that Chloe has been doing the same thing!

She wants to work things out with Jimmy, and I'm willing to bet after her "wow.. wow!" comment about Oliver that if she'd been horned up on RedK and Oliver was in front of her, she would have gone for him, too.. BUT the person she keeps closest, the one relationship that she wants to keep open no matter who else comes along, is Clark. I can't really think that the "back pocket" position is a fall-back position for either of them. It's the one they are too afraid to try for (because it would mean the most to lose in terms of their friendship), but the one they both want so much they can't let go of it.

I think you just rekindled my hope.

Exactly. She was attracted to him (where she wasn't with Lex) and I think that's the whole point. Her's this interloper to her life whom she finds insulting ("sidekick!") and yet she's physically attracted. And Jimmy is the one she thinks herself in love with but she will NOT let go for CLark.

I always viewed the back pocket as a place one puts things they value and fear losing.

I can't comment too well because I didn't watch the whole episode. I wasn't in the mood to deal with the Clois. But I knew going in that the writers would throw in tons of anvils for the Clois. I'm not surprised to found out that a lot of the anvils really seem to be more like anti anvils like the forever tattoo that only lasts a week and the "next love of your life" instead of being " the love of your life" And that other anvils are anvils that have already been done with Chloe like the DP Kiss and quoting a classic Superman line. So dueling anvils right there.

Chloe goes to spray. "I think it's time to get those glass slippers back" Oh I got giddy here for some reason. Almost like Chloe was telling Lois she’s had a chance with Prince Charming (Clark) but it’s it time to give Chloe back what is rightfully hers ( ... )

Completely dualing, which is good for us.

No I totally agree. Chloe is still our Cinderella.

He's going to realize that he wants to be with Chloe "not by default but because he wants to"

Yup! That's the whole thing, he's not really re-evaluated.

If he constantly felt that Clark was a wedge in the relationship, why did he continue to stay in a relationship with Chloe. I just can’t help but feel that Jimmy choose to wait for his heart to be broken.

Word.
