in case you haven't seen this already, in Warren Ellis's corner of the internet he's been hosting 'contests' that involve reimagining popular superheroes,  the latest post is for Steampunk Batman  Many of the entries are a lot more Pulp than Steampunk, but regardless there are a lot of really well done and creative entries.  highly recommended for

Man, those are gorgeous. It's astonishing how many talented artists are out there waiting for a seed crystal to catalyze them into stuff like this.
