I'm coming to the unexpected private conclusion that I might kind of like myself better without makeup:

Rowr! The red hair is still fab on you, you remain utterly gorgeous, and make-up is laregly pointless.

Thanks! I must admit I like the red.

Yes, this. Also, fab glasses; my glasses match my hair too.

I think it's a VITAL consideration.

Did I miss something? When did you get (+2 Cha) specs?

I've had specs for about five years, now - though I wear them very rarely as my main problem is the eye muscles tiring and specs actually make that worse. But I pop them on for half an hour every now and then if I must read a book.

I also have a blue/green pair.

I do like that hair colour.

And why use make up when you look so good without it?

Aw, thank you! I guess I still like putting it on. I'm just not sure it achieves any great benefit any more.

Yess! I've been preaching the gospel of no makeup for ever. Makeup is for the theater, where you have to recognise an actor's basic features from quite a long distance. The closer you get to someone, the less makeup they need. Close up and personal makeup turns out to be an uglyfying veneer that does no one any favours, whatever favours it may do photograph models in the magazines.

I heartily approve.

YES! I totally don't get make-up and never have. Some people (your good self and biascut spring to mind) are great at using daring colours and dramatic styles, but the whole thing about wearing make-up to look like you're not wearing make-up? YOU CAN TELL. And just the idea of it freaks me out a bit, kind of like those weirdy bodystockings people sometimes wear on stage to look naked without being naked. Ack.

However part of this is doubtless down to my own profound laziness about make-up, and also it just doesn't seem to work on my face, I look clownish or black-eyed and it FEELS WEIRD and makes me want to scratch my whole face off. And without wishing to blow my own trumpet, my current Facebook profile pic was taken at 5am on new year's day after a night of drinking and clubbing; had I been wearing make-up I would have had mascara down to my chin and lipstick around my ears; as it is, I look frankly rather marvellous.

You are GORGE without make-up. Also, that coppery hair is stunning.

I don't think you NEED makeup, as you have dark brows and eyelashes, so your features are already well outlined. Whereas me = Boris Becker without a bit of slap.

I love that you say I am GORGE without makeup, because it completely proves my theory that one should never take a lover or a flatmate without first checking that they are short sighted. ;)

That is true, the dark brows and eyelashes help - I think that's part of the reason I've never understood what make-up's supposed to do. But you can dye your brows and lashes, yes? So there is no need for make-up!

And ACTUALLY I am long-sighted. So there. You are gorge.

Yes, and I do (dye my eyebrows and eyelashes). But I still have days when I'm dreadfully pink and blotchy, so something has to be done, sometimes.

Also: POFF! And ACH! *blush*
