my first thought went to alcohol, because a handel is a measurment of alcohol - and a lot of it has a bad after taste - and some people would associate drinking with the devil...

I can't remeber the last time we shook hands so I can't see where this metaphore about shaking hands with the devil is comming form....ok that was a good joke..come on you laughed...after all I am the Devil incarnate.
