Ya know I really don't get this new anti princess campaign going around. I don't see a problem with a little girl dreaming of big poofy dresses and diamond tiaras. And I realized tonight that the flip side is little boys dreaming of being super heros and bashing the bad guys. Also not a problem.

I don't think it's so much anti princess but rather anti gender stereotypes. If you walk through a toy department in any store, EVERYTHING for girls comes in pink. Boys get all the other colors, red, blue, green etc. If a boy likes pink, he's a sissy. If a girl doesn't like baby dolls or Barbies, something is wrong with her.
Toys that are marketed to girls are things like baby dolls, play kitchens, and Princess gowns. For boys you get Superheroes, trucks, tools and Lego, (yes there are girl Lego, but they are pink and different.)

I have a friend whose daughter absolutely love Wonder Woman, But she can't seem to find very much Wonder Woman toys. She had to make her daughter a WW costume becuase the only one she could find in the stores or on-line for little girls was pink. PINK Wonder Woman? The adult ones were all the sexy ones.

So it's not anti princess, it's anti gender role stereotypes.

No there are anti princess groups that are different from the gender stereotype thing. I have come across a lot of stories about mother fighting to keep their girls from world of fairy tales and princess stories. The thought is that it makes girls weak and dependant on finding a prince charming to take care of them. That it enforces the belief that beauty is more important that brains ( ... )
