:: post three :: the streets go east to west.

The strangest thing.

I think I know this place.

At first, I was like, "Oh a city, I know what that is," but everywhere I go, I feel this tickling on the back of my brain, but nothing I do can really place it.  Every time I turn a corner, I get this feeling of de ja vu, like I half expect to know what's round the bend.  But before I remember what I'm ( Read more... )

the spoils of war, when in doubt make a list, !argent, the wilderness is a city, !mirror, !sight

Avenues? Streets?

Why the hell does that sound so familiar?

That's it, I give up, I'm going to the wilderness now

Yeah, the whole place set up like a grid, the numbers go up and down, depending on which way you travel. It's easy enough to figure out when you get here, but it seems like I'd already knew it. It's weird.

If this place seems familiar, you and me should totally find each other. Maybe we can figure out what's going on in my brains together, yeah?

Throne! I'm glad to know you were able to get away from the insane ones (by which, of course, I mean those planning to war with the bugs and not the bugs themselves).

I have to say this city leaves me quite overwhelmed! Perhaps you can chose a spot for us to meet up and reconnoiter since it seems so familiar to you? The funny signs tell me that I am on "5th Avenue."

And then we can talk. Or you can talk, rather, and I shall try my very hardest to listen.

Heh, yeah, Argent, I've got to admit I'm kind of glad to have gotten away too. Some folks around here have got tunnel vision, man, and not in a good way. The last thing I need right now is to lose my head. Literally.

And yeah, I'd imagine this place has got some people completely freaked. Big buildings, no grass, and oh yeah, the faceless creepy doll things don't really help either. If you want to meet up, just, walk down Fifth Avenue, southwards so that the street numbers go down. Find a place that sells tea or whatever -- look for a green sign with a mermaid and white name on it, "Starbucks". God knows that there'll be one of them nearby. Tell me the cross street and I'll come and find you.

And seriously, I can't say just how awesome that sounds right about now. My brain's totally hotwired, like this place is giving me crazy signals. Maybe if I could just ramble it all out, you could make more sense of it than me.

There are a few who seem set on violence regardless of how much logic and good sense you throw at them, aren't there?

And the puppet people are rather strange! I tried to talk to a few, just in case their appearance was not a true indication of their conversational abilities, but no luck.

I am now sitting at a table in one of your Starbuckses, at the corner of 5th and 29th, as I write this. Unfortunately, it seems quite packed with puppet people, none of whom are prepared to make me tea. I'd feel quite awkward jumping behind the counter and brewing myself a pot, but that might be what I will have to do.

Well, try not to let your head explode before you get here, and I will see what I can do. Hopefully, your faith in me is not misplaced.

Gotten really familiar with the wilderness, eh? At least you could clearly map through it then--good to hear it. Maybe I'll try to meet up with you sometime, like when I try to rally the group together again.

Definitely, boss, I really appreciate you taking me on. If only this place could say this way all the time. Then maybe, over time, I could actually figure stuff out.
