32nd Sphere

[Anyone passing by 752 Partridge on Sunday will see Jecht lying face down in the middle of the beach on his front lawn.  His entire body is more or less covered in scars - both the ones he got from working in the factories in Soviet Mayfield, as well as the ones he earned in Spira defending Lord Braska on the Pilgrimage.  He's definitely breathing ( Read more... )

[There are three separate sets of emotions running through her head:

Why does this keep happening to people I somewhat care about?

... oh look there's another corpse for my dinner. It can join the Justin and Liz and Giriko corpses. He's not dead? Hahaha what are you talking about... ... - so what's this about him still breathing?

STUPID HUMAN EMOTIONS s-sob I hate this - I hate us - I hate what I feel for you

Combine them together and you get a near-crazy Saya tearing towards Jecht the second she recognizes him. Do remember what happened last time she lost someone she likoved sorta actually cared about.]

Jecht!

[... what.]

Well. At least somebody didn't attack you.

[Yeah, she's thinking of Mother Earth Yuuka too. ]

Your scars opened because you trained too hard? I mean, they're not fresh wounds.

"The factory ones are."

[Points to the same wounds Saya bandaged up before.]

"Never stopped trainin'. Guess I tore 'em open."

[Time for a blunt Saya moment.]

... have you been eating any fruit recently?

...Fruit? What for?

I'm just hoping it's not scurvy. It would explain the scars bursting open.

I mean -

You must have done some intense training to open scars that healed weeks ago.

"Uh... I never really let 'em heal over. This is the first day they came open this badly."

[Sounding sort of reluctant to admit that.]

...Blitzball. Combat. Caving in Grady's face someday.

[She's pressing down on the terry-cloth number two and she doesn't even remember when she switched to a fresh one. All she knows is that the blood flow is gradually stopping if the slower rate of blood spots on the towel were anything to go by.

Just kinda looks at Jecht like he's crazy. Not even going to ask about blitzball and its relationship to him being a soccer coach. Not even going to make a comment about how he got droned over attempting to cave in Grady's face last time.]

Combat.

[Yes, she focuses on this.]

What kind of crazy battle are you going to be in if you can't even let your wounds heal for a few days?

[Just sighs. He's actually getting a little tired of telling that story.]

"...A pretty damn big battle. And I'm gonna be dropped right into the middle of it when I get back. So I gotta be ready."

[Come to think of it, Saya doesn't know much about Jecht's personal life. She wasn't even aware he was in a middle of a war back in his world.

But she can relate. Sort of. There was going to be a big showdown once she returns to her world too.]

I understand, but... you still have to take care of yourself. I mean it, you know.

[Looks at you like she means it. Stern face.]

I totally downloaded Saya no Uta - haven't played it yet, though child_abuser July 19 2010, 01:49:39 UTC
[The girl's got a point. Jecht hates to admit it, but she does. He knows he won't be of much use to Braska against Sin in this sort of state.]

"...Yeah. I know."

[The wound on his chest has stopped bleeding for the most part, not enough to congeal yet, but enough for her to quit applying pressure on it. There were other wounds she needed to attend to.

She takes off the blood-stained towel and applies a new one to a rather large, slightly swollen gash on his arm.]

if you want to avoid me, you should really take a breather every now and down to avoid putting too much stress on your body so that I don't constantly have to raid your house and fix you up.

I mean, I'm not a doctor or anything so later on you should see a real doctor to look at your wounds. And even normal doctors can't get you fixed up that quickly.

If you're so insistent on training without repercussions, you should meet somebody who specializes in healing magic. Become friends with them and ask them for favors. Apparently that sort of magical stuff exists in Mayfield.

[If the phone lines were anything to go by. Defying all the rules of science she knew too well.]

"...Braska used to take care of the whole healing magic thing for me. Guess I'm used to havin' it around."

[Chuckles ruefully, shaking his head.]
