[Well, it's snowing outside. Again. Miyabi had been meaning to work more on her surprise for her friends, but with the thick falling snow, anything she tried to get done would be ruined. So, Plan B! She hippity hopped her way to where her and Salt's home was, buried in the snow, and not becoming any less buried with the current weather. The little ( Read more... )

A story from another world? I would like to hear one.

[Oh, she hasn't heard this voice before, so long as she can recall. Miyabi rolls over on the fleecy blanket she was laying on, so she's on her stomach with the journal in front of her. Kicking her legs lazily behind her, she smiles.]

All right, what would you like to hear, then? I know many folktales from my homeland, so I can tell you anything you'd like to hear. A scary story, a sad story, one with a bittersweet ending... Or perhaps I can try to remember one with a fairly happy ending.

[She had a choice? But which one?]

I'd like to hear a scary one.

[The little ponclet blinks, then grins in a very wicked kind of way. It's not every day that she gets to tell a scary story, and she does so enjoy those kinds of tales. She enjoyed the suspense and thrill, and how she could scare the pants off her friends and villagers back home.]

Ah, madam, good choice~! But I must warn you I know some very good ghost stories... One moment, please. [Miyabi moves away for a few minutes, and blows out all the candles or lanterns lighting the room. She leaves only one candle, so the atmosphere would be there as well. The young painter raises her voice, just in case anyone in the house was listening in, and begins.]

Madam, I must ask you, first and foremost...do you believe in vengeful spirits~? Souls of ones who have died or been murdered, taken form into gruesome and evil demons. ...Back home, we call those monsters mononoke.

Hmm... [Well, considering it was an older man speaking to her, Miyabi was sure he wouldn't be interested in many of the folktales involving princesses or fairy tales. She decided for a slightly more gruesome story, mostly one of adventure, deceit, and a powerful foe.]

This story takes place in the imperial city...where the Queen of Sei-An City ruled over the people justly and kindly. She was a fairly young queen, but still loved by the people because of her devotion to them ( ... )

Sure, I'll hear one.

[She says from buried under her covers in the bedroom |D]

And I'm sure it's fine to use the kitchen.

[Pff--Nami, have a kind of startled noise then a soft, voice as Miyabi knows you're ill and resting and--gdmit, you bloody pirates worry her so much, sob.]

Mm, Nami...h-how are you feeling? D-Did you like the flowers? [She coughs a little, then raises her voice, putting on a happier face. There's no need to worry her, too.] Ah, Okay. I'll tell Nami a good story! what kind would you like to hear? ♥

[We do it on purpose. It's an experiment to see how long it takes to give one fairy a heart attack, honest.]

I loved the flowers. Thank you. Um. And I'm doing a lot better.

I'm not sure, though. Why don't you tell me your favourite story?

[It's because she's part ninja, isn't it? HATERS. Miyabi smiles, glad she liked her little gift. She's about to reply that she was glad Nami was feeling better, but the suggestion had her pause, and blink. It takes her a moment, and she seems to be thinking.]

My favorite story...Mm, there are so many I like. Uhm, er...let's see. I know one I'm particularly fond of. It's a very famous tale back home, known all throughout Nippon. In fact, the story traveled all the way from the main land to where I live up north, in Kamui. Mm, let's see if I can remember it correctly. [She clears her throat, and begins, her tone soft.]

Long, long ago...A tiny hamlet known as Kamiki lay nestled in a grove of proud and beautiful cherry blossoms. Each and every tree around the quiet burg was honored as a god. [Miyabi smiles fondly, letting her words linger to paint an image in her friend's mind. Her tone, as she spoke, was delicate and had an air of peace to it. Of course, no good story can be too peaceful, though. When the painter speaks again, her ( ... )

[Chopper? Chopper's been feeling like Devil Spawn ever since he had to break Nami's fingers. Seeing Miyabi does cheer him up a little, because she's someone that he can actually look in the face without guilt. Besides, he's always loved stories.]

I'd like to hear one!

[Oh, Chopper...Miyabi loves you, and will be coming over to cuddle you soon. She's heard what happened, and doesn't blame you. You were helping your and her friend get better, that's all that matters. For now, though, the ponclet beams.]

Oh, Master Chopper! It's good to hear from you. Mm, what kind of story would you like to hear? I think I know a couple that you may like, but you go on and choose~ ♥

Excellent. I don't suppose you've heard the story of the White Stag, correct~? It's a very good story, and is the reason deer are sacred in my homeland. [Miyabi smiles and begins her story quietly, in a soft voice. She's done this before, it's easy to tell just by the way she changes her demeanor.]Long ago, two brothers existed, twins, born of the stars of heaven. Each were brave and noble hunters, who took from the earth, and wasted nothing of that which they partook of. They were revered as the best hunters in all the world ( ... )

I have uncovered your house and finished your furniture. [The snow set him back quite a bit, but he's got everything except for the stove done.]

Oh! Mori! A-Ah...? My house? [She blinks and sits up quickly. Miyabi looks out the window nearby, at the falling snow. Surely he didn't dig it up in this weather. The painter smiles, appreciative of his generosity, but she was worried he may catch cold. Sigh...you people really do want to give her a heart attack.]

...Heh~ Thank you, very much. But I hope you didn't do all that during the snowfall outside. It's falling heavily, and I could have dug it up with my friends' help. You're a very kind person, Master Mori, I'll be sure to tell Salt as well. Just, uhm--er...d-don't catch a cold, okay? I would feel just awful if you did while digging up the house...

[Mori was fine. He was bundled up against the cold and worried that Salt and Miyabi might have things they needed in the house. The snow wasn't falling hard enough to make his task impossible, just mildly annoying. Besides, every bit of snow he pushed away from the house now was snow he wouldn't have to deal with later.] I'm fine.

(ooc: Derp, I just had a thought, did they make the furniture plans during the 4th Wall event they don't remember? If so, then I can still make this work.)

[Don't worry, Mori, Miya and Salt's appetites are small, and grabbing just a handful of food for them would probably be more than enough. Plus, Miyabi's used to blizzards and cold weather ten times worse than this. It comes from living in the northern part of Nippon. She still looks worried about him, though, but won't fret too much. On the outside, at least.]

A-All right...Thank you so much for everything, you're much too kind to us.

[OOC: Oh, crud, I think it WAS during the fourth wall. Uh, if you have a backup plan, though, go for it! .o\]
