No matter how it might look to a casual observer who peeked in through the open door, Quinn Fabray definitely was not running scared from Fandom

K-Mart was wandering the halls because A: she was bored and B: she was bored. Oh, and C: Her cat was having one of those spaz attacks on a pair of shoes and she didn't feel like extricating her shoes so she could go anywhere.
She couldn't help peeking in open doors as she walked by them, which explained why she was looking into Quinn's room.
"Leaving?" K-Mart asked curiously. She didn't actually know Quinn, but she knew Quinn had been a cheerleader at her old school, which meant she'd probably do cheerleading here, which meant there was some kind of solidarity to be had.
Look, K-Mart attached herself randomly to people sometimes. It just happened.
"I'm K-Mart," she said, leaning against the doorframe. "You're... Quinn, right?" She quirked a smile. "And bet you never thought you'd ever actually put the post-apocalyptic world class to good use, huh?"
Quinn gave a small smile. "I asked Professor Reno if we were going to get extra credit," she said. "And I'm sure you've heard every 'blue light special' comment known to man, so I'll skip it."
"You can come in if you really want to watch me pack," she added doubtfully, since it wasn't all that interesting. "Where'd you end up?"
"You are my new favorite person on the planet," K-Mart declared, grinning as she moved into the room. "And I didn't end up anywhere, actually. But being here was just weird enough."
"Stuff from other places was ending up here, stuff here was disappearing..." K-Mart shook her head. "I mostly just stayed indoors. I may be from a post-apocalyptic wasteland myself, but even I have my limits."
"Uh, thanks. I think." K-Mart shrugged. "Yeah, I did. Well, it was normal up until I was nine. Then the zombie apocalypse hit in full force and I spent months hiding in a K-Mart store. Hence the name, actually. I kind of took it when I got rescued because dude, who wouldn't pick K-Mart over Dahlia Julia Mancini?"

She glanced back at the girl. "You're in one of my classes. I don't know your name."
Of course she assumed everyone knew hers. (Well, no, she didn't really, but she was tired of feeling anonymous.)

"I'm just from Ohio," she said. "No apocalypse, zombie or otherwise, yet."
