I don't hate my job, just the children I teach. Some things I was thinking, but refrained from saying today.

- ...of course it is my fault that you cut class and I am smart enough to figure it out.

the day-on kid called "all rise!" and we all stood at attention
and bowed at once. Then the teacher greeted us, we sat down, o
ur back straight, with our hands on the desk or on the lap.
We didn't dare talk in class unless allowed.
Teachers were there to teach and because of that, to be respected.
Well, we tended to be very judgemental when they didn't seem worth utmost respect, and I hated all that discipline, but it might have been a good thing sometimes.

The problems I deal with are a result of me calling out a bad behavior and following through with the consequence. The teenage angst would have them blame ME for being a jerk.
Whatever. I get over it and move on. I also try not to tell them what I really think.
I tell them everyday, "I'm in this job because I love being the center of attention. So, pay attention to me. I do this for fun."

What I wanted to say, "well of course it WORKS, that is because I am awesome. So why don't you offer me a contracted position instead of this crap long term sub job."
