After a year or two's absence the Folio Society has tempted me back into the fold. The bribe arrived today. It's the Norton facsimile edition of Shakespeare's First Folio but in a much nicer edition than the standard trade hardback. It's quarter bound in leather with a slipcase and all the usual Folio accoutrements. Being a full sized facsimile ( Read more... )

Ooh! Can't wait to see it. It's about time we started getting replacements for our cat-savaged cheap Complete Works and worn, yellowed annotated paperbacks.

Oh, very nice! I've been looking at that, too. The rejoining offer I'm currently considering is four of their ordinary editions, but at half-price. I think I'll probably go for it.

I'm waiting for An Offer That I Can't Refuse. Right now it's half price books, which I do have to admit is pretty tempting. What I really want is their Narnia set...

But there is something very seductive about Folio Editions. Yes.
